Wow, just checked wait times, and very, very low for the 50th anniversary now, Friday evening, at MK and other parks, too. Even ROR only 30 minutes. Not much of anything more than 30 minutes, only mine ride and Peter pan, and many favorites 5-10 minutes in MK. Shocked. But excited and hopeful it won't be crowded when we visit in January.

Wow just looked and that is low wait times! Fireworks are starting though.
I checked the other parks and they are low waits too. I figured it would be packed!

Enchantment starts in less than one hour. My guess is that everyone is in the hub staking out a spot instead if in line for attractions.

I noticed the same thing. Has the pent up demand come to an end? Is it Covid fears? Are people tired of the constant price increases?

The wait times have been misleading today if you've looked at any other coverage of the parks. The waits to get food or into merchandise shops have been hours long and Magic Kingdom hit capacity and closed to park hopping by around 3pm (the first time this has happened at any park since park hopping started up again). The people that are at Magic Kingdom today are likely people who have been many times and therefore not concerned with rides - waits were low all day long. The Emporium had to go to virtual queue to get in. Reports are people waiting nearly 2 hours for mobile orders after they've hit "prepare my order."

It’s low waits in HS and Epcot too.
I think a lot of people who couldn't get MK reservations hopped there from the other parks before the capacity limit was reached.

I also believe that all attractions at every park were operating at full capacity today. Something that you only see when the biggest crowds are expected like at Christmas.

When I was a kid, I couldn't imagine going to a concert and there more people being in line to buy a tour t-shirt than to see the actual band.....

but the world changes.

But back then scalpers only dealt with tickets. You didn’t have to worry about the one souvenir you want being bought out by scalpers who cleared shelves & then listed the items for sale online e at twice the price within couple of hours.

SDMT was 30 minutes in the middle of the day and 15 minutes at 7:30.

Space was 10 minutes in the middle of the day.

Splash and Pirates were walk-ons all day.

This fanbase is kinda pathetic with its obsession over merchandise and pictures of cupcakes but today that benefited people who were actually here to celebrate this place that we love.

Yes I was curious so did a google search of Disney 50th T shirts. Double the price🙄. Ridiculous!

Co-signed. I don’t understand why you would spend all that money on a ticket/annual pass SOLELY for the privilege of spending MORE money once you’re in the park. Like at least take a spin on It’s A Small World to justify the price of admission!

Yea. I went into the day hoping to get on all the rides/attractions that were here on opening day. And I thought that would be a struggle. I was able to ride everything, not just those, plus do a little shopping.

Ebay Poshmark Mercari etc will be exploding with new Disney Merchandise. Shame the crowds
were packed in stores like Black Friday.

I also wonder if Disney’s recent trend of publishing over estimated wait times played in.
We entered Pirates with a posted time of 50 minutes & ended up taking 10. We didn’t stop walking til we were at the loading CM. And even then we only waited for that boat to pull away so we could go into the loading area.

I love it when that happens
