Wow, low wait times on anniversary day!

SDMT was 30 minutes in the middle of the day and 15 minutes at 7:30.

Space was 10 minutes in the middle of the day.

Splash and Pirates were walk-ons all day.

This fanbase is kinda pathetic with its obsession over merchandise and pictures of cupcakes but today that benefited people who were actually here to celebrate this place that we love.

I agree. I had initially planned to just be at MK and enjoy the atmosphere. Once I got there and realized no one was doing the attractions, it was a great day. I even sent my sister a photo of the walkway between PP and IASM, a notorious bottleneck, that was almost deserted. I had already bought the souvenir I wanted at DS a few days earlier, and waited to eat until I went back to my resort (which was also empty in the afternoon). It was a great day to remember why I love WDW in the first place.

100% agree! It was a truly magical day.

Wait times for rides seem slightly higher today, but not by much. Maybe level 2 or 3 crowds vs the level 8 TP expected.

So it sounds like the majority of folks spent (1) hours in line for food and a commemorative popcorn bucket, (2) hours in line to get merch, and (3) the rest of their time camped out at their fireworks viewing spot? It’s a free country (relatively speaking), but that would be a day in h e double hockey sticks for me. :scared:o_O:oops:

I really hope Disney drops a limited edition November 15, 2021 plastic soap dish so I can be guaranteed all walk-on rides.

Looking at wait times today seems to be repeat of same low waits. Anyone in park to say whether it’s same issue with merchandise lines eating crowd or did the 50th not hit as hard as we were expecting?

We’re at the airport right now, but Epcot future works seemed pretty crowded this morning. Creations was mobbed at 10 am.

Do they really limit ride capacity on a daily basis? If so, I can see them deliberately doing it to increase the appeal for genie+.

It’s not about Genie. They’ve been reducing capacity at slow times of the year for as long as I can remember. They’d rather have guests waiting in lines than pay all the CMs it would take to run at full capacity.

It also sounds like a lot if people only put in a part day—couple hours in the am, resort break or hop to another park, then back for fireworks.

I did not get that feeling because the quick serve restaurants were mobbed and mobile ordering was backed up two hours. Seemed to be a lot of people in stores and in the hub and all over the park, just not on the attractions for some reason. They also halted park hopping to MK around 3:00, supposedly because it hit capacity.
