SDMT was 30 minutes in the middle of the day and 15 minutes at 7:30.
Space was 10 minutes in the middle of the day.
Splash and Pirates were walk-ons all day.
This fanbase is kinda pathetic with its obsession over merchandise and pictures of cupcakes but today that benefited people who were actually here to celebrate this place that we love.
I agree. I had initially planned to just be at MK and enjoy the atmosphere. Once I got there and realized no one was doing the attractions, it was a great day. I even sent my sister a photo of the walkway between PP and IASM, a notorious bottleneck, that was almost deserted. I had already bought the souvenir I wanted at DS a few days earlier, and waited to eat until I went back to my resort (which was also empty in the afternoon). It was a great day to remember why I love WDW in the first place.

So it sounds like the majority of folks spent (1) hours in line for food and a commemorative popcorn bucket, (2) hours in line to get merch, and (3) the rest of their time camped out at their fireworks viewing spot? It’s a free country (relatively speaking), but that would be a day in h e double hockey sticks for me.

Looking at wait times today seems to be repeat of same low waits. Anyone in park to say whether it’s same issue with merchandise lines eating crowd or did the 50th not hit as hard as we were expecting?
It’s not about Genie. They’ve been reducing capacity at slow times of the year for as long as I can remember. They’d rather have guests waiting in lines than pay all the CMs it would take to run at full capacity.

I did not get that feeling because the quick serve restaurants were mobbed and mobile ordering was backed up two hours. Seemed to be a lot of people in stores and in the hub and all over the park, just not on the attractions for some reason. They also halted park hopping to MK around 3:00, supposedly because it hit capacity.
