Wow. Just Wow...

If the asthmatic patient didn't want to be exposed to the trace amount of mercury, he could still get the shot. He would just need one of the individual doses. That may result in his making more of an effort to get vaccinated, but that is the way it should be.

I know.. I was just making sure that everyone knew that you cant get the mist if you are asthmatic. We were giving paperwork from the state on it at my son's Early Intervention Parent group. None of us had any idea and one mom's who has a ds with severe asthma was scheduled for the mist and ped never said anything every though they knew there was a risk.

There are also many more ingredients in the mists which people who have allergies cannot have. DS' school is having a clinic in two weeks and the whole family except DHS has had "suspected" cases of H1N1 *not confirmed because the state won't test anymore but that's a whole nother issue.* So I called the Drs. office to ask if I should have the kids get it anyway. The response was absolutely either one (shot or mist) as long as they didn't have asthma or other lung or heart conditions and weren't allergic to x, y, z or... But if they had those conditions they couldn't get the mist only the shot. I can't remember exactly what things they couldn't be allergic to but it was a long list; My kids don't have any allergies so I have to admit I didn't pay attention to the list.

eggs is one of them,
