I just priced Pop for 2 April 7-11th including park hoppers for 3days and came up with a quote around $1050.00. To me that seems high, I was thinking that our trip to Pop at Christmas of 2005 for 3 , 6 nights was only around 1600.00. I tried it as resort only and added tickets and tried as package both about the same with no dining plan. I hope I am doing something wrong, any suggestions.

I booked Pop yesterday for 4 for Sept. 2007 and came out with 1921.72 which was 69.00 higher than this year at the same time.

take off the water park fun from your tickets.

change the room to standard.

see if this helps. It should bring the price down to $979.00

Do you think it has something to do with the fact that April is peak season and when you went in December you could have been going during value season, (if you checked in prior to Christmas eve). Also keep in mind that this year (2006) Easter was blacked out from discounts, so it is very possible that could happen in 2007, especiall since I noticed your dates are the day before Easter Sunday.

I got a quote for Pop in Oct. for 5 nights and a 1 day ticket and dining and the price was 1094.32. Does this sound about right, I have never booked a package before so I dont know how much they should be.

Thanks for the replys. Yes I realize it is peak season but daughter is playing in the parade at MK on Easter Sunday. I am sure the price isnt all that bad, for some reason I thought we could run down for the short trip for some where around 600.00. Now that all is said and done daughter has decided we should stay at home while she plays in the parade so we can save our money for a trip to Universal in June, go figure.

I just put your dates in for Pop Century including three day park hoppers and dining and got a total of $947.40.

Standard view - no water parks.

No matter how many times i put it in I still come up with 1045.04 for my dates and that is no water parks or dining.

I put in your date and got 947.40, but then I looked and the website keeps changing the number of people to 1.

I was pretty suprised about how much next year's trip would cost us too- we already have days left on our non-expiring tickets and we wanted to do the dinning plan, but they really are pushing those longer stays. It just doesnt seem worth it to go for less than 5 days if you're staying on property. Universal was not that great BTW. Dunno if you've ever been, but we went last summer and it just doesn't have the charm of Disney- plus it's absolutely crawling with obnoxious teenagers.( No offense to your DD). We don't have kids yet, but I would gladly be around 80- 8yr olds than 20 teens. Personal preference. Good luck either way.

We have been to Universal and enjoyed it very much. We found the hotels to be a little nicer and found we could relax more with only two parks to play in. Dont get me wrong I love Disney to me it is just a different more hectic trip. I have been to Disney 3 times now and will be back many more and certainly dont want to start a Disney versus Universal thread.

I'm with you in agreement for this one. I prefer Disney hands down.
Our family goes to Disney at Thanksgiving each year, but we went to Universal Orlando this year in April, our first ever visit, for about 1/3 the cost of a Disney Trip.

Deals are compared in The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney world 2007 on page 55. Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are always offering admission discounts when you purchase tickets online from their website.
Let's say you're a family of 4--- mom, dad, and 2 kids under age 10, and you want to visit both Universal Parks. You can score a free 2 day, 2 park, park hopping ticket for the kids (ages 3-9) for every adult 2 day, 2 park ticket you buy online. Total cost is $212, including tax, for the whole family. For the same family to spend two days at Disney parks with park-hopping, it costs a whopping $656, tax included. Clearly 3 times as much.
The trip I booked last April to Universal offered an online only special whereas a 2 day purchase gave you an additional 3 days at no charge, and the kids tickets were still free. We went for 5 days for the price of two. There was no way I could turn down that kind of offer! And the Comfort Suites 1/4 mile away had rooms as nice as the Disney moderates at a value rate of $85 a night.
