WOW - I just sold my old gold........

This may have been posted, but to go through all of these posts and try to find it is going to be a very long day. :crazy2:

Has anyone gone to the USGOLD location in New York City on 47th street to sell their gold?

If so, how was the process?

Well, this kinda sucks. I got $42.35 from Goldfellow.

Guess my gold wasn't as good as I had originally thought! :lmao:

Oh well. Having $42.00 in my pocket is better than having a bunch of junk sit in my jewelry box!

I'm with you Nyla. I was offered $56.20 for the stuff I sent to USGB (that's the same as the US Gold mentioned a couple posts up). They said they had left me a message, but there was no message from them. I had sent some silver, some gold, and a wedding set with a 1/3 carat diamond and 3 small diamond chips. This price was for the gold, silver and the diamonds!!! I'm going to have them return it all and then I will send it to GF and see what they say. I know I can get atleast $75 just for the solitaire from the jewelry stores around here so selling all of that stuff for $56.20 is an awful deal!!! Not to mention the guy I was talking to was not nice either!!! :snooty:

I sent in four 10k rings, a silver chain, and a 14k earring. Oh, also a 14k gold pendant with diamond chips.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting more than $100.00 but when I saw $42.00 I was kinda surprised.

Oh well.

Wow! That seems awfully low for all you had! I really wasn't expecting anything more than $100.00 for my junk, as it really was junk (mostly old high school jewelry), but I'd think you'd get a larger offer for all your stuff! :confused3

I'm new here and have started reading this thread but it's so long! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me who they think is best to use. And I think I read something about USBG or something? Then another site didn't show up, I just got *****'s. I'm hoping to cash in on some of my old jewelry and head to Disney! :cheer2: I'm thinking this discussion board might be the find of the century!!!!

I told them to send me mine back. It cost me $13.68 to have it sent insured but it would have been for free if I would have let them put it in an envelope and hand it to the USPS with no insurance, confirmation, or anything.:confused3

I just got my call. They offered me 445.55 and I took it. Not bad for some old gold just sitting in my jewlery box. :cool1:

My experience with USGB has been nothing short of fabulous. They received my package on Tuesday, I had my offer by 4:30 p.m. that same day, and I just retrieved a check for $1,387.07 out of my mailbox from them.

My suggestion to anyone doing this is to take your stash to a local jeweler and ask them what they'd give you for it. At least that way, you can make a comparison.

Is USGB US Gold? It seems like everyone gets the best deal from them, but I'm not sure who they are. I'm thinking of going to the Gold Guys at a local Holiday Inn today to see what they'll give. Anyone work with them?

Wow...that's fast. I sent mine in on the 27th. Was able to talk to someone and receive my payout quote on the 29th. So I should have my check, possibly Monday or Tuesday? Awesome!

My Aunt is the manager of a jewelry store for over 15 years. She said they tested cashforgold. They didn't pay out as much as they should have.

She said your best bet is to go to a jewelry store. I guess you could get ripped of there to tho. Ya never know.

USGB is Us Gold Buyers. They are located in NYC.

So not to mislead anyone here, I had a lot of gold to sell. I sent in 10 gold chains, 5 bracelets, 2 rings, 2 charms and 2 pairs of earrings. My local jeweler offered me close to $1,000. USGB beat that by almost $400.

Thanks for the info! I'm going to get an estimate from a local place here, then I'll try them and see if they offer more. Thanks!!
