I got my quote today from USGB. My check is coming for $2,102.76. Not bad for stuff I didn't even want. I had some 10kt, mostly 14kt and a few 18kt items in what I sent. On my home postal scale it all weighed in at 6.9oz. I have no idea what the penny weight conversion was and I didn't ask. I spoke with Steven there and he was a real sweetheart.

I got my check today! My settlement offer was last Wednesday.

Well, I took the plunge and sent my stuff in today. I had several pairs of gold earrings, a gold bracelet, 2 gold rings, 3 heavy silver bracelets, and some small silver earrings. It won't be a lot, but any money is more than I had!!!

I took mine to a local buyer today. I was told that my 14kt penny weight was 16. That was most of my stuff. I also had 2 18kt rings (both pretty heavy), and 2 10kt rings. I also had a few silver pieces. She offered me $285. She said that the 14kt pay out was $12/penny weight. I passed on the offer because I wanted to come here and see if you guys had received a higher rate. Can anyone tell me what you've received per penny weight lately?

I agree, I was interested b/c I have a tennis bracelet and it has diamonds in it and would like to sell those too, I don't know if I will try them or if I will just stick with USBG.

I'm taking the plunge! I've gathered everything up and DH took it into work today to call for a FedEx pickup so it all can be sent to USGB. DH thought I would get $300 for it all. I took it to one of the local dealers over the weekend and they offered me $700 for 125 pennyweight. I told them I expected more (thanks to this board) and they offered me $1000. I found some more stuff to add to the bunch, so we'll see.....

I don't know which is better - proving DH wrong or getting some extra $$$$ so we can go to WDW this fall.

I just got my settlement - turns out quite a bit of it was not real, but then I did have a hunch on that. My grandfathers wife kept giving me her 'gold', and I often suspected it wasn't real - but was worth a shot.
I got $115.60. plus 10% DIS board member. Its a bit disappointing when you see what others have gotten, but for me its fine because its $115.60 I didnt have! Its part of a car payment for me!
