I am sick to my stomach....

I sent to Goldfellows last week.... and got a pay out of 205.

I took the breakdown and called USGB...they quoted me 341.00

so I shipped it to them...with a bunch of heavy silver items... now, they are telling me 251.00 with all the silver....


THE man was RUDE as rude could be.... would not give me a breeakdown on the items and told me it will be a lot of $$$ to have it shipped back...I am no idiot, 3 pounds does not cost that much to ship back !!


I wish I stayed with Goldfellow!!!!

sorry to hear of your experience , I wasn't sure who to go with either. I choose GF b/c it was sooo easy. I am sure I could have gotten more $ but not worth the hassel.. Good luck

I originally went with USGB 2 weeks ago and it was a week turn around....

but for friendlier matters I went to GF... and only when USGB told me twice they would give me more...did i change...
I have another man from there...looking in to it...he said I should have been told the breakdown, and I told him I ask and he told be he didn't have breakdowns..that they don't do that!!!

So now, I am waiting on a call back... No biggie, I will just have it shipped back to me, but GF didn't charge fo my return either!!!

Just disappointed, I hate being lied to!

Okay...I may be having a MAJOR blonde moment here, (which wouldn't be surprising when it comes to numbers ), but when you look at the chart that USGB pays vs. Gold Fellows, there's a significant difference, right? We're talking like $10. more per oz. for 14K...or am I missing something? Is one chart based on different figures than the other? I know posters have said that USGB does pay higher (but don't have great customer service), but the difference in price really does seem like a lot to me.

If someone can straighten me out, I'd be thankful.

How much less does USGB's pay if you have under 5oz? Is it a 10% reduction in their rate, 25% ? I'm just trying to figure out how much different the payout would be with USGB's vs. GF since I don't have a tonne of gold. When I figured it out I estimated approx. $115 from GF with the 10% DIS bonus or $155 from USGB, but if USGB takes 25% off for <5oz. then I would get approx. $117 from them making it almost even. But if they only take of 10% then I would still get $25 more with them over GF.

USGB is accustomed to dealing with bulk gold--5 oz or more. I'm guessing they discount smaller amounts about 20% or so (could be a bit more or less). Small amounts require the same labor and processing as larger amounts. You'll also need to factor purity into the equation--and you won't know that until they test it. They do seem to be paying a bit more than GF, though, regardless of weight.

Well my sister and I pooled our gold in hope of hitting the 5 oz mark for a higher payout from US Goldbuyers. We just missed it, but did get an offer of $1,833! Woo hoo!

I just got my call from USGB my payout is 1276.72 I expected more around 1500 and told them that but I took the payout!! thats good for some old gold laying around!!

So I'm finally going to do it (I think)! I've got my items and just have to drop them off. Don't know why I'm so nervous about it???? Seeing several posts I guess a few of us got nervous before sending off our packages.

I have the following items leaving me:
8 rings
5 necklaces
1 bracelet
3 pendants
11 earrings

The postal scale said 2.1 oz so minus the stones in the rings I'd say 1.8? The majority is 10kt gold. So anybody know how much that would be? I'm doing something wrong, my configurations are all over the place????

Just curious about your payout? I just sent in something similar...

Just wanted to update , got my check today in the mail.. So turn around time for me to GF was sent last Wednesday pm got settlement Friday and Check Monday so less than one week...

Great experience with USGB - I shipped my gold out on Sat. morning Fed Ex, it was delivered at 9:30 am on Monday (today) and I recieved my settlement call at about 5:00 pm tonight (Monday night). I didn't get as much as I had hoped, but I still have $200.00 that I didn't have yesterday!

I'm going to send out another package to Gold Fellow this week, and compare the two. I think with a smaller amount, it might have been better to go with Gold Fellow.

I'm not complaining!

The fedex that I sent to goldfellows had their packing/shipping lable on it with their Fedex acct #. You could just drop the envelope in any Fedex drop box, or give it to the clerk at Kinkos or similar mailing type store. Make sure you save the slip that they send you with the tracking #, you can also get it off of the shipping lable on the envelope. Its all free for you.

I guess they get a better rate if they're not in a hurry. I just picture my envelope sitting on a shelf all lonely......

I got my check yesterday. I got the call last Monday but I held out, they rechecked and offered me more on Tuesday.

Seriously if you doubt your payout, question it! My offer increased nearly $150!

Mine says the same thing. it got to FL on Sunday but they have held it since then since it wasn't scheduled for delivery until today. It just says not scheduled for delivery. That's nuts if you ask me, if it's there , deliver it!!

I also mailed mine to USGB today and yes, I took a picture too. I have no idea if it's all junk or not, but figured I might as well try. Anything is better than nothing and all goes into the vacation fund. Anyone have any luck finding gold at garage sales? Thought that might be something to try and I know others have mentioned it.

OK, I'm a little confused. I have 4.5 oz (on my kitchen scale!) of gold. I just can't quite figure out how to translate all of this into $. I want to have some idea before I send it off how much it might be worth.

Math is NOT my strong suit! LOL
