WOW - I just sold my old gold........

Did you get your money instantly? I'm asking because I went through goldfellow and the money came into paypal as an e check. Paypal put a hold on it!! It was sent to my paypal last wednesday and one of the e checks cleared yesterday and the other still hasn't cleared!! Now paypal says it will take another 3-4 days for the transfer from paypal into my bank account!! This is frustrating!

Yes I got it instantly.

I would much rather find a place close to your home to sell than mailing it in. You get your payment instantly . I would look through the yellow pages and make some calls. :)

Not too terrible. They should be more upfront that there will be a Paypal fee! I only know because my hubby sells some gaming stuff on PayPal and has to pay that fee every time.

Definitely good to have the money in your hands so quickly though! When did they get your package?

They got my package on Saturday and I got a call back today at 11AM with my offer if $321.00

Hmmmmm - I was going to use USGOLDBUYERS because they seem to be paying more.

I just used Goldfellow and it was easy, fast and efficient. Their website is great. After reading some of the posts though I think I could have gotten substanially more with USGB.

I have some more stuff and have it ready to ship to USGB but now I am getting a little put off because they sound so busy. That's the power of the DIS:upsidedow

beattyfamily,

I was able to get the email from USGB before they began telling callers to wait till 3/24. In the info they email you, there is a copy of a FedEx airbill showing the way to fill it out. They also provide info on how to package up your gold prior to putting in in the FedEx package. I decided to package it all up at home, and then go into our local FedEx/Kinkos drop off place and send it from there. Of course, I haven't done this yet...but other posters have, apparently. Anyway, I'm waiting till next week at this point, figuring if they are way too busy, they might lose my stuff...:scared1:

Thanks for that info. I think I won't hear from them for awhile but that's fine. I'll wait till next week and if I don't hear from them by then, I'll try calling them.

You know, I'm seriously considering approaching our pastor with the idea of doing this as a fundraiser for our new playground. It may be a little offbeat, but I'll bet that a lot of the women in our church have old jewelry that they don't have a use for anymore. I wonder if he would think I had lost my marbles? :rotfl2:

Goldfellow received my package at about 1:30 last wednesday and they called at 2:45 to say my settlement was ready to view online! Very fast! However, make sure you request a check mailed to you. Paypal is holding the e checks for 3-5days and charging a fee on them. Just a heads up!!:)

I just wanted to add something to this. Goldfellow also received & processed my envelope last Wednesday 3/12. I opted for payment by paypal. Paypal said funds were expected to clear Goldfellows account by Mon 3/17 -- yesterday. As of right now, it still hasn't cleared Goldfellows account. 5 days will be tomorrow.

Has anyone had any trouble with checks being returned by bank? Or if you've done paypal option, how long did it take to clear? I'm not in a rush but I just want to make sure I get paid. Know what I mean? ;)

Yup, its me. Mrs Skeptical again. lol

Anyone sold just a class ring, 10k gold ladies? I already sold my spare gold, but forgot about my class ring, is it worth going back to sell? Thanks.

I just spoke to USGOLD and they are swamped!! They apologized and asked me to wait until Thursday to call about my claim. She was very nice. I am in no hurry....just the anticipation!!!! :rolleyes1

Are they behind on sending checks? My call came yesterday and I was told to expect a check in 3-5 business days (company check not paypal).

This is a question for anyone who has used goldfellow and printed the shipping label at home. Did you just place the label inside the envelope and drop it off at fedex? or did you have to do anything else? Also did they return no "real" gold if there was any? Thanks for all your help.

I just sent USGoldbuyers an email letting them know that I know they are very busy due to the price of gold and the Wall Street Journal article and I'm not in a big hurry but would love to get info on mailing my stuff myself rather than having it picked up. I said they can send it when they have time as I'm not in a big hurry. I could wait till next week.

I tried to weigh my stuff on my kitchen scale to figure out what I might get. It looks like it's 2 oz but I'm lost from there. Too confusing to figure it out. Everything is 14K except one nice long rope necklace that is 18k.

Can't wait to get the ball rolling. If I don't hear from them soon, I'll just call them on Monday.

Thanks for all the great info and I'll keep you all posted! :goodvibes

update: just got an automated email from them saying:

Dear Valued Customer,

Due to unusual amount of calls, we are currently

experiencing a delay in answering emails. Please note

that your emails are very important to us and we will

respond as soon as possible...

Hopefully, I'll hear from them in the next few days.

I got an automated email with all the details about sending my gold. I had too many appointments today to call FedEx myself and wait, so I was hoping to just mail it myslef using the info they sent (FedEx account, address, etc).

Anyone else done this?

It is probably easiest to just drop your fed X Stuff off like at a local Kinkos. The Kinkos employees here all knew how to package it and gave me my shipping info right there. I did not have to do anything, they looked at the paperwork I printed from the e-mail and they addressed it and i tracked my gold on line. It was signed for on Sat. morning, which was a surprise because I was told that they were closed on weekends. This is Tues and still no word, I am not for sure if they call everyone for the final price or just send it to you? Anyhow, I have been checking my paypal account anyway. Good Luck! Lisa in RAINY Indiana

Glad yours do - our Kinkos employees are bunch of loonies!! DH took a package to them last week to ship. They refused to ship it because "the box is wet." It was sprinkling raining - not drizzling, not storming - just sprinkling. DH said he literally counted four small drops on the box. What a bunch of kooks! Which is why we now call them kookos instead of kinkos! They said we'd have to repackage the box. DH brought it home - I called for a home pickup, and the driver picked it up that afternoon. I refuse to deal with the crazy people!

I used goldfellow & printed my own label. I put jewelry, packing slip & a photo of items with my name, address, phone# & email address all inside a zip loc bag. Took the ziploc bag to a FedEx shipping location. The baggie went into a FedEx cardboard mailer & the shipping label went into the plastic sleeve on outside of envelope.

Sorry I cannot answer your other question since I only sent items that were clearly marked 14K gold & had been confirmed my local lowball jeweler.
