WOW - I just sold my old gold........

Well, I didn't feel like waiting for Fedex to show up, so I just took it to Kinko's.
Hoping to hear something by Monday from US Gold Buyers:cool1:
I am bumming though....As I was getting my camera out to take a pic of all the jewelry, I dropped the freakin' thing and busted it:confused3 It was almost 5 years old but it worked perfectly. I had to run out to Curcuit City and buy a new one asap because tomorrow is my son's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. There goes my money for the gold!!:scared:

Oh nooooooo!

Congrats to your son though! :woohoo:

Just dropped off at Kinko's too to USgoldbuyers.

sent 40 grams but not sure if one bracelet is gold filled, 37 grams id definitly 14k gold.

Anyone know what 37 grams payout would be???

The only two pieces of my gold NOT MARKED any karats are ones I bought from jewelers on 47th Street in NYC!!!!!

Well....those pieces are going back to that street (via usgoldbuyers) and we'll see what they say!! Should be very very interesting!

Anyone know if usgoldbuyers will send back anything that may not be gold.....I have a few items that I cant find any markings on....one because the clasp is broken so I cant inspect it and 2 others that it is just to small to make out.

I'm also wondering if they'll buy gemstones (amethysts, pearls). I'd just as soon get rid of the whole ring--not just the gold.

Is it worth it to send in 1.5 oz of gold? (per postal scale)

TIA

I am on pins and needles waiting for my price! USgoldbuyers received my package 5 hours ago via Fed Ex. I can't wait to be contacted, but how will I be contacted? phone? email? Anyway, when I called them yesterday and asked about my gemstones in the jewelry, they said they pay for those also, even though it didn't sound like it would be much. Definitely take out your stones if they are very valuable.

Thanks for the quick reply, Snow White. I guess the would buy silver then, too? Not sure if some of the chains I have are white gold or silver.

when my dh handed in some of my gold today to usgold buyers i did have a bracelet that had chips of diamonds and rubies 12 in all. they looked them over gave me a credit which was about $39:sad2: but weighed the whole bracelet with chips included into the gold price you would think they would pop them out???

hth

I dug through my jewelry box and sent my stuff to US Goldbuyers this morning, I took it to FedEx/Kinkos. I did not weight it before I sent it. I have 6 rings, 2 bracelets and 3 earrings (2 are a set and 1 is a mismate). Almost everything is 14K. I left the gems in 4 of the rings, nothing exciting, almost invisible tiny diamonds with various other stones. I did remove the diamonds out of my wedding set, I had no idea what to do with this ring after I got divorced so I held on to it and I'm glad I did.

Thanks everyone for posting info, I look forward to reading this post everyday. :goodvibes :goodvibes

What would you do, knock the stone out of a men's class ring before sending it to one of the gold places or just send it as is? Thanks!

If they don't contact me today with a price, does any know if usgoldbuyers are open on Saturday to contact me? I understand they are a little behind and busy right now.

You can check out their website. I didn't see anything regarding silver on it.

However, goldfellow.com does say they buy silver. They don't provide a chart--or I didn't see one last night. The price of silver fluctuates much more rapidly than the price of gold--usually! :) You could email or call them and ask.

I think someone else had quoted about $16/gram so that would be $592.00 +/-.

That would be worth about $744.00.

So I am old and confused.;) My place just offered $16 a gram!!!! Is that good??
I am waiting to go today!! Thanks for any help. All this math gave me a headache.:headache:

$16.00/gram is good. The refineries are paying about $17.50 and the companies that are running the gold buying services have to make a little profit when they resell to the refineries.

Got a Call around 4:oo 2-day, my settlement was 358.93.
Hey, more than i had:dance3:

The bad news:

Arrrrghh... I am allergic to 14k gold. So, I can't find that much laying around - never bought any to begin with.

The good news:

I'm a 24k gold girl :goodvibes So, I am sitting on a fortune. :rolleyes1 When I got married in 1996, gold was really low (high 300s). At my wedding reception, I wore 24k gold bracelets and bangles almost up to my elbows. It was a fortune then, more so now, I guess.

But alas, they will have to remain the in safe deposit box. My Mom will never forgive me for selling any of them. The workmanship is worth more than just the gold. They will be saved until my daughters get married... :rolleyes1

I am wondering the same thing. Please post if they contact you!
