WOW!! I Just noticed Breyer's Ice Cream packaging!

I'm surprised they didn't start using a strip of heavier plastic in the bottom seal of the bag to complete the illusion.

As long as we keep buying everything, the companies will keep short changing us because we act like we don't care.

We act like we don't care because half the time we don't even know they are doing it. They do it quietly and sneakily and hope we won't notice, and a lot of times we don't until it's pointed out. Keeping the price the same adds to the illusion that nothing has changed.

I can't find my favorite flavor lately, so double patooey on them!:upsidedow

It's been quite a while and I think most major brands have done this. Same price, less product!!

Bleach....

No longer a gallon!

96 ounces!

Welcome to American economics!:confused3

My absolute favorite is the serving size and servings per containier! For chips for example, a serving would be about 3 chips!

Dunkin Donuts does it in retail outlets other than their own but you can still buy a full pound at their own stores.

you're right....i'm getting less breyers ice cream than i thought

(just checked the carton in my freezer)

that's just not right.

I think they do this more for the people who check the calories. Make the serving size smaller, the number of calories go down and people who don't pay attention will think the item is "low-cal"

I hate it when this happens!!!! I always sort of feel violated. :(

Bluebell ice cream still sells a "true" half gallon. If you sign up on their website, they will send you a coupon for a free half-gallon on your birthday!

I am thinking Breyer's did that about 2 years ago. I also noticed certain orange juice shrinking - I think it was Tree Ripe brand. Not a 64 oz. half gallon. I want to say it was 56 oz, but am not totally sure because I just put it back and got a REAL 1/2 gallon!

I'm pretty sure Breyer's has always been 1.75 Quarts. I first noticed it when I was in high school, so it has been at least 13 years.
