And I haven't even stayed there! A couple weeks ago I reserved the 1st week of March with the AP discount with the hope that all/some nites I'd be able to get the ent. rate.

Jennifer (at HoJo) just called me to let me know that 2 of my nights are available at the ent. rate! It's not showing up on their messageboard yet. She mentioned that March~May or June ent. rate dates are picked so keep an eye on the HoJo boards!

I'm excited to stay there this Dec.!

It will be our first time with Hojo in Dec too. I can't wait!

Thanks for posting... I've been watching the hojo boards for the entertainment rate too. I just called Hojo's and four out of our five nights are at the entertainment rate! Yahoo!!!:yay:

i apologize if I'm being completely blonde right now...but where are the "HoJo boards?"

Also, for the entertainment rate, do you need an LA entertainment book?

Thanks everyone!!

Ha ha! that is funny! No, it is not a blonde moment. he he!

The Entertainment Book can be from any geographic location. I suggest buying one for your area, that way you can utilize the various specials, discounts and coupons for where you live.

You can post questions etc. on the Howard Johnson Insider Boards, you will just need to register first. It is simple and pretty quick to do so.

Just wanted to add that Lorealle is one of the managers at the Howard Johnson Hotel, and that you can ask her any question that you would like to, either on the hotels Insider Boards Website, or by calling her at the hotel.
Whatever you do, do not call the 800 number to inquire about the Entertainment Rate, for they will have no idea about to which you are speaking of. Call the hotel directly, and ask to speak with either Lorealle, or with In house reservations.
You do not need the entertainment card when booking, but rather when checking into the property. You can also book now, and see if the entertainment rate opens up for your dates. There is no charge for booking, nor for cancellation of said booking.

And by the way, both Jennifer and Lorealle ROCK!

The week before we left, I called to confirm our reservations, and Jennifer fixed our room for us so that we were able to get the top floor, wonderful-view room that we requested way last April.

Lorealle has been a great source of help and info since I first booked last spring. When we were there the 12th-16th, I stopped in by the front desk the day before we left and asked if she was working. She was, and I got to meet her briefly, so I could thank her for all her help. She was so nice! She immediately knew who I was and asked if we'd gotten the room we wanted.

We loved staying there. I'd definitely stay there again, with or without the Ent rate.

Thank you. I just checked their board and as you said the dates are not up yet, but when I put in the SD50 code, ALL my dates are available!!

FYI...rates have gone up-- $59 for highway facing, no micorwave, $69 for garden pool view, and $79 for disney view

My dates are for April, not sure when the rate change takes place.

Date are up on the website now. It says $74, but I was told it is $79...hummm

I think they JUST changed it. I was checking the rates on Saturday and my Entertainment rates were $54/night and now checking they're $59/night. And this is for December 2008.. :confused3 I guess they went up!

thanks for all this info! it has been so helpful :goodvibes

Thank you very much for posting info on ent rate.
I was able to book a premium disney view room, almost for the price of standard room!

Kay :thumbsup2

You are most welcome! :)

In the beginning, (when I began reading this forum) I had no idea about this entertainment card. Then I began to read various posts that were being made by different members of this website, especially by Avalon 451, who should receive a discount for the Howard Johnson Hotel, for advertising it often, and in a most chipper way at that. :) So, it did not take me very long, to put more or less all of the information together, so now, I do know something about the subject too.So I like to be of help when and where I can. Now if I could only put that effort together with a decent pay check, then I would be fine. :)

Woo hoo! Just called and got Jennifer who was awesome and added my last day on to my current reservations at the entertainment rate. I have been waiting 8 months for this to happen. Thanks for the heads up :yay:

Now we can have a day to do other stuff like go to Forest Lawn cemetary in Glendale, and the Griffith Observatory. Stuff like Hollywood we were planning on doing after the Land closes but the cemetary is something you have to do by day lol.

Well, I know our schools sell them as fundraisers, you can get them online also. Most people just buy the one for their own area because there's a lot of great deals in there, I know some that buy them for the Anaheim area- I'm not sure whats in there for stuff around Disneyland. I got mine from a nice lady online who had a surplus and mailed them out to people on the board free.

Where can I get the entertainment card?

Mousefit, I just made my reservations for HoJo's today and didn't have an entertainment card. I went on Ebay and there are people just selling the cards alone...it was only $5.29 - no shipping!

If you go to the Entertainment Card site you will see that they run upwards of $20+ for a book. I would never use the book...so, I just got the card.

The cards are never personalized - so you could even borrow one from a friend.
