I called to talk to them about ent. rates and they said that I have to be a member to get the rates.. Can someone tell me what I need to do to be able to get ent. rates at HOJO's? I am trying to book a trip on my own and am having no luck.. Thanks in advance for any advice!

You can purchase the book via the link below:

http://www.entertainment.com/discount/home.shtml

You can order a book for any area that you would like to. I suggest doing so for your area, that way you can take part in savings, throughout the year.
remember to call In-house reservations at Howard Johnson's. For the 800 number, will take you to the general reservation line. They will most likely not know to which you are referring to.
You do not need this card to book a reservation, but rather will need it at check in. You do not need the book, only the card.

This link is for the Hojo Anaheim Innsider Boards page, that lists the dates that are currently available for the Entertainment Card rate. If you do not see your date, you can still book, and receive the Diser's rate, that is much less though, at 15 %. Also, many suggest, booking the dates, and if and when the entertainment rate becomes available for those dates, you can call the hotel, to have the rate switched to the entertainment card rate.

Lorealle is one of the managers of the hotel. You can ask to speak with her when you call. You may also communicate with her via the Innsider Boards link to which I posted in the above message. You just need to register, in order to do so. It is fast and painless. ;)

Sometimes the dates that are on Insider Board for the Entertainment Discount are wrong. I just booked today for December 1st through the 4th and on the Insider Board it said that the Entertainment Rate is available on December 1st and 2nd, but when I called it was available the 1st and the 3rd and NOT the 2nd. So just double check when you call because they are subject to change...

Gisele, thank you for posting all this info though, it's really helpful! :wizard:

Definitely a good idea to call and double check the dates available. The link is updated often, but of course, with how fast reservations can be made or canceled, it can be difficult to be completely up to date, I would imagine.

Your welcome :)

Lisa,

Did you ask for in house reservations? Call during the day, and make sure you ask for in house reservations - maybe even ask for Lorealle or Jennifer.
Sometimes they will transfer you to the main Hojo line if you simply ask for reservations.

You don't have to have the Ent card just to book, and you can only get the 50% off Ent rate through In House, like Colorado Mom said. Call the hotel directly, Mon-Fri 9-4 pacific time, and specify in house reservations. The national line doesn't know anything about their special rates.

In house reservations does not work sundays (and maybe saturday too) nor the evenings. You can try to make your reservations on line using the promo code SD50.

Oh yes, make sure you ask for in house reservations and not just reservations. I made that mistake this morning. I called and said can I please have reservations? And the front desk girl transfered me. The lady I spoke with had NO idea what I was talking about with the entertainment or the AP rate. I called back and asked for in house reservations and she transfered me to in house. A recording came on and was talking about the Hojo being across from Disneyland and blah blah. Then I spoke with a Jennifer. She was very helpful...

So just make sure you ask for in house. I believe they're there from Monday through Friday and Saturday.

I have made our bookings by email. We can even get the entertainment rate when using a New Zealand card.

Thank you guys, I will call tomorrow! I could not believe the savings!! Do you have to pay for the rooms as soon as you book?

No, I believe you are charged when you check-out of the hotel.
We love the entertainment rate!

No and they won't ask for your ent card card number either - but you will have to show it when you check in.

I called and booked yesterday and she promised me that they don't charge or hold anything until after you check out and they don't ask for your entertainment card number, you just have to show your card upon check in.

we are going with a group of 10 and we need 2 rooms, will they let me book them both or does my brother n law have to get his own room for his family?
