Wow......easiest FP+ setup ever.......and I've found a slow time at WDW too.......

I've been that week. It's pretty slow but be prepared for lots of chanting and swarming groups.

I just finished my FP+ (60 day) setup for our Jan 6 thru 10th trip. Wow..........easiest ever.
First off.........I had access at 9:30pm ET.........unexpectedly early :)
Second..........All the big rides were available. I got two 7DMT FP's..........TSMM.......TT..........and the holy grail of FP........Anna & Elsa :-)......and I could have had it twice!
Finally, I was easily able to modify all the times to meet our plans...............8-)

I also could have had FOF twice too..........I believe, or so it looks, January is a slower or the last slower time left at WDW (and this is Marathon weekend too.......although that could be a factor).

Very happy with these selections...........this trip is going to be unique in that we're going with a group of professional WDW folks..............so this should be fun!!!

Nice!! :thumbsup2

I booked last night (well, midnight today?) and we got everything that we wanted as well! It's always a relief to get what you wanted. So we got every restaurant reservation and Fast Pass that we wanted. Whew! Now I can breathe a bit easier. :)

We are also checking in on Jan 6th. Got everything we wanted and pretty much all the big rides had multiple times open even Mine train which I heard was almost impossible to snag. Did online check in after I booked the fast passes. Everything went smoothly. Went during New Years last time so glad I am running in the half marathon and got to push our visit back a couple of days, seemed to really help.

One of the Un named crowd calender sites, the one with way too many stats and number crunching, reported on their blog that stand by wait times for Anna and Elsa are way down on average... 48% lower this year vs last. Still long in my opinion, but their popularity seems to settling in to normal levels.

We arrive Jan 3, waited until morning to book our FP+ and we too had no problems and got everything we wanted. With that out of the way now all I have to do is hope and pray weather cooperates. We've never gone in Jan so that is our biggest fear. Praying for good weather while we are there but especially for the 17 hour drive to Disney and back home!

I'm glad you got your FPs & all, but I really want to know how you managed it at 9:30!!! Mine is on a school night & I'm dreading being up that late!! :charac2:

Yeah I think they give out more FPs during more crowded times

I check in 1/3, and had a similar experience a few days ago. I stayed up till midnight to register, but had no issues with getting any ride including A/E and 7DMT in any time slot on any day. I even modified a couple of days later and added a second ride on 7D on a different day. We went during this exact week a couple of years ago, and since weather was bad too crowd levels were glorious!

I wish I had an answer for this............but I don't. All I did was sign on to MDE and it was there............

Ahhhh..........there could be a reason. I was setting FP's for our January trip............on tickets I purchased separately (thru Disney).......we're staying at the BWV on rented points. This trip is 2nd on my MDE list. We're now 22 days from our first trip staying at AoA for Disapalooza................so I've already done FP's for that 1st trip. Because of that trip I've had access to days leading up to this 2nd trip...........I would log in to the FP area periodically and see what I had access to..........it was usually a single day following the 30+ sign up period.

When I logged in that night, around 9:30pm, I had no expectation of being able to do my FP 60+10..............pixiedust: but there it was!

Was this the reason why? Did I find an anomaly in the MDE? Who knows..............as I said I don't believe I would not have been able to get the FP's I wanted if I got on at 12:00 as we expect.............but it was a nice surprise.

That is awesome. I have heard the beginning of January is very slow.

Right after New Years everyone clears out and the kids are back in school. Have a great trip!!!

Well, not everyone.
You'll see lots of FLAGS out in the parks with dozens of guests following each one.

Arriving 1/3 and I was surprised at how easy the fp+ process was. I didn't want a&e but definitely could have got it. Got two for 7dmt and even got one for Soarin for my arrival date which is also the last date it's open before closing for the long refurb.

Not necessarily, per se.

Since the parks are generally open LONGER (open earlier and/or later, not including EMH) during the busy times, there would naturally be more FP+ available by adding to the total, per day, of the FP+ that would be used during those extra hours.

As a (made up) example, if a given attraction offered 300 FP+ per hour, if the park was open 3 hours longer than "normal," there would instantly be 900 more FP+ available for that one attraction that day than on a "normal" day.

You're allowed to say Touring Plans on here.

Hey, I love reading posts like this. This has been my experience, generally, as well. I was even able to get 7DMT for my sister yesterday. She's arriving 12/19 and was really behind her window. What can I say, I actually really love FP+.

It was amazing. I use the UK site "The DIBB" to track FP's and I've been watching those 3 for about 2 weeks. As the time grew closer I just couldn't get over that they weren't filling up. I believe I would have been fine with my picks even with going at midnight! Congrats to you on your selections too!

Excellent post..............I also really enjoyed the use of "Parenthetically"......great word......used so infrequently! :P

While I'm certainly happy for the OP and others who are getting the FP's that they want...I just have to say that this is the reason I'm glad i clicked on this thread! I'd never heard of this site, and I love that I can look at FP availability...because as I'm certain my DH would tell you, what I need is another Disney site to obsess over until March (well January when I can book FP) Thanks Doug!!

Thanks, Robo...it's been some time (years) since I've looked at that thread...guess a refresher is good

Thanks Robo...I hadn't even read that thread, as I *thought* I knew it all regarding FP+ etc, as we've done it a couple times, including as part of the test at AKL in 2013...guess I don't know it all after all...hmmmm...don't tell my husband! ;)
