Woke up this morning at our 90 day mark to call at 6:00 our time. Zero hold time, got every single ADR requested including a 8:10 seating at CRT for the first morning there. The new process was so smooth, no credit card numbers or confirmation numbers til the end, the whole searching went so much faster.

The only glitch was that Crystal Palace was not yet loaded for Wednesday, July 15. The CM said that they had been having problems with getting it to load for availablity and to call back daily. It's not one of our 'biggest requests' so no worries. We are big 'Character Dining' fans and I was a little worried about the more popular breakfasts, but we got ALL OF THEM. Woooooo Hooooo.

Phone call time start to finish 21 minutes, with a whole 7 days of reservations. Very, very nice. I, for one, am a fan of the new system.

This is good to hear-thanks for sharing. I don't make my ADR'S until May-and I have been nervous. Congratulations on getting the ADR's you want, and good luck getting Crystal Palace-I'm going to be trying for that one too.

That's awesome! I've been worried about making our ressies - we still have 10 days before I can call.

OT question...

What is the new ADR process? You have to use a cc for making any ADR now? Do they charge it if you don't show?

Only certain meals do you have to use a credit card to hold - for us CRT and the Princess Breakfast in EPCOT. You have to cancel within a certain time or your card will be charged. It used to be that you had to give the card number each time you booked one of these (I think other examples are the Spirit of Aloha and Hoop Dee Doo Revue). Now just once at the end of the call - same with reservation numbers. They used to give you each reservation number after each booking - now they give you them all at the end.

the same restaurants are requiring ADRs. Now the restaurants and times are handled first and the credit card information and confirmation numbers come at the end.

Of course it would appear that the new system will allow for additional CC requirements in the future if Disney chooses to do so. Your CC information can be tied to any restaurant with a simple coding change.

I'm glad to hear it was any easy experience. Maybe the kinks are being worked out.

I can't wait till we can do them online and it would be awesome if you got an e-mail (like when you make a hotel reservation) of your dining times.

Glad to know the process is fast. Looking forward to next month when I can do mine. Won't be long.

Thanks for making me feel better about my chances with ADRs!

Congrats!

Our 90 day mark was last Friday, and I was shocked how well it went. Based on what other posters had been dealing with, I was really nervous and scared I was going to be late to work for being on hold for a long time (had to call at 7 am). We called at 6:59, were on the phone with a cm by 7:03, and were off the phone by 7:15. We were able to get all the reservations we wanted for our quick trip (july 2-5), including CRT breakfast on my birthday and dinner at Le Cellier on July 4. I was thrilled! Our cm took the credit card numbers about halfway through the phone call, because she was worried something would happen to our CRT reservation. She said that earlier in the week her computer had frozen after a CRT reservation before she did the credit card info, so the reservation was not fully booked and the caller was not able to get another one. She said they were pretty upset. Yikes! I hope those sort of glitches get worked out quickly.

We got a Dinner at Le Cellier too - 15 minutes within our booking time. Too easy - I was so surprised!

I'm so glad it went well for both of us! Hehe. I hope more people have that experience. It takes a weight off of you shoulders. :upsidedow

My family of four is going this August and my ADR day is mid May.

I'd appreciate lots of feedback if possible .... what would be your top 5 picks for dining experiences - character or not?

Hmm...Here are my 5 (in no particular order):

1. Grand Floridian Cafe - We had dinner here out of necessity rather than desire, but it ended up being my favorite meal of our last trip. It was not very crowded (had early dinner), and the cms there were GREAT!!! The food was wonderful. It was really a lovely meal.
2. Cinderella's Royal Table - If you have not eaten here before, it is worth it to at least eat here once to eat in the castle. If you are not into the princesses, you can do dinner (we were pleasantly surprised by the food at dinner in Jan 2008).
3. Narcoossee's (sp?) - Great service, great food, great location - perfect to watch wishes or the water parade.
4. Chefs de France - I know there are mixed reviews on this one, but we had a really great dinner here on our last trip, and we really enjoyed our waiter.
5. 1900 Park Fare breakfast - We had a really great time here in Jan 2008.

Hope this gives you some suggestions to work with! :)

I had good results yesterday as well. I missed the 90 day mark due to work commitments ( I hate it when work gets in the way of ADRs) for the second leg of our trip so I was a bit nervous. Dialed Member Services first and they were already closed so I called Disney Dining. Got everything we wanted within 15 minutes of our requested time except for a FDP at Mama Melrose on July 4th. All FDPs for that day were booked so we settled for 50s PTC instead. No biggie. I also prefer the new system where you get all your bookings confirmed first then confirmation numbers at the end, much more efficient. Good luck to those that are waiting for their booking window.

Can I just check is your 90 day reservation day 90 days before your actual dinner/breakfast or whatever or is it 90 days before your trip? We are round about our 90 days now but only for the start of our holiday as we are coming over for 14 days - if I call now will I be able to make a second reservation for the second week of our holiday even though that's more than 90 days away? We are staying on site.

It is my understanding that you can make ADR's 90 days from your arrival date for the first 10 days of your trip. In your case day 11-14 would have to be made 90 days out. Hope this helps and have a great trip;)

We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 9 years old so we do a lot of character meals which helps out from waiting in those long lines in the park, but our top choices are:

1. CRT (who doesn't love eating in the castle)

2. Ohana's for breakfast (good food and lots of time with characters with no rush)

3. Le cellier (if you can get in it's a fantastic meal, even my 6 year old gets to eat steak, which is a plus for her)

4. Chef Mickey's (foods ok, but the character interaction is perfect and always a must for this family)

5. Tusker house (good food and character interaction, also for breakfast you can slip out and get fast passes for kilimanjaro safaris while the family finishes their meal)

Hope this helps! for us we try not to put too much pressure on planning and if we spend the entire day riding Goofy's barnstormer and the kids leave with a smile, we struck gold!!!!!
