Wow - disgusting!

Oops. Sry. I must have been looking at an older price guide. I can't afford it either way. Lol

It's a bundle of $$$, that's for sure. I called WDW to get more information a week or two ago when the VIP tour came up in another thread and the CM said there is no priority access granted to VIP tour members, just access to the FP lines.

This doesn't surprise me a bit unfortunately. We went with friends back in 2008, one of which was in a wheelchair/scooter due to surgery. He was legit, couldn't walk. We went to the front of every line because of his "handicap". I mean we went in first for the rides/shows, everything I can remember. It was early Nov. and not very crowded. Not sure if that makes a difference or if they have changed the rules since then. It was only our 2nd trip and we really didn't know what to make of it. I couldn't help thinking that there must be lots of people that have figured this out and game the system by having someone in the party rent a scooter for the day, whole party goes to the front of the line.

We did see several families cutting in line at attractions right in front of CM's last trip and the lines weren't even that long. Not handicapped, just didn't care to follow the rules. I guess some people are just like that, even at the happiest place in the world. :confused3

It does seem that Disney Has cut back on special perks for wheelchairs. On our first trip in 2007 they seemed a lot more liberal with taking wheelchairs and scooters first where in more recent trips we have seen them in the regular line.

When we went Presidents day weekend this year DD was offered an access card because of a knee problem but she felt that she did not need it.

I really think the group size of GAC should be limited. If you are in wheelchair due to whatever problem, how about just two more people coming along and helping out. I once saw that a group of 12 teenagers got in GAC line because one girl was in the wheelchair.

Most of this discussion has centered around people in wheelchairs, however there are many other reasons why people may need an "alternate" entrance. I'm sure there are people that will try to cheat the system, but whether or not a person needs an alternate entrance is between the family and Disney. It is no business of any other guest!

It is suppose to be limited to 6. 6 seems reasonable so that most families can ride together.

This is a ridiculous article, probably completely fabricated and as posted, there are already several previous threads on this subject. It's silly to get upset about this.

I agree. It is no secret people abuse the system but there are many more that utilize a GAC card in the correct manner. The article was clearly intended to get people annoyed and angry. Free publicity for a book soon to be released. :(

I also get a GAC for my mental health issues, but I only use it if I REALLY need to. If Im having a bad day- bad panic attacks etc then I'll use it, but otherwise I just get a fastpass or queue standby if its less than 25 mins. Never abused it and never ever will!!

The first time I did Monsters Laugh Floor, it was 1am on EMH and I was half asleep. I followed the family in front and ended up in the disabled queue (they had a son in a wheelchair). That was really quite embarrassing and I showed my GAC purely to avoid having about 40 people watch me have to leave and go right to the back. And I still feel bad about that, but it wasn't my intent to skip the queue!!

May I ask what accommodations they can give you if you are having an anxiety attack? I too have panic attacks, but I just stand in the regular queue and stick it out. I never thought there was any way to accommodate me.
