I've already reported it to ebay as being fraud since anyone claiming to have a reservation in the NEW building at AKV for New Years is a liar.

WOW!!!!

Now this is a vacation as you are bidding on a 4 night 5 day stay at the New Animal Kingdom Villas in a standard view 2 bedroom 2 bath villa 12/29/07 - 01/02/2007. This is not the lodge but the brand new resort built with all the amenities you could want and having animals roam around oudoors for your viewing

You will be one of the 1st to stay at this villa over New Year as it is the newest and most amazing property ever built by Disney. This is a vacation not to pass up with your family. What more could you ask for staying on Disney property over New Years at Disney's resort

The ending price will not include the meal plan but will include Disney pick up and drop off at the airport. Please email me with any questions and I will be happy to answer. I also have an auction going on at Beach Club Villas Dec 14 - 22nd if this is not the time for you.

If you have ever been to Disney and not stayed on property here is your chance as it doesn't get better then staying on property escepically during this time.

Reserve is very fair priced so book this while you can!!!! If you want me to upgrade and if available to the Savanna View it will cost an additional $1000 and if you want me to try and book the 28th for you that would also be additional/

Here are links so you can see the resort

I looked at the listing, and I think what they mean is it is not the "old" AK Lodge (aka the hotel) but the DVC villas?

Maybe.

I would say that "This is not the lodge but the brand new resort built with all the amenities you could want and having animals roam around oudoors for your viewing" is misleading since the Jambo villas ARE in the lodge.

This listing just isn't right. It makes me think it's nothing but a fraud.

My email to the ebay lister:

How are you listing a stay in Kidani Village rather than Jambo House since it won't be built and open until 2009? The villa you have MUST be one of the remodeled ones in the lodge. Your listing is false.

The ressponse I got, word for word:

My listing is right on the money JO
It is considered Animal Kingdom Villas as I that is what my reservation says and that is the time share I bought. It might be in the lodge but it is considered animal kingdom villas.
This is how Disney sells it and they are in phase 1 of 3.
So if you think it's false report me to ebay, call disney, and don't bid on my item but don't waste your time or my eye sight sending me email.

My response:

I'm an owner of AKV, too. And I already reported you to ebay before waiting for your reply.

This one's a gem. His latest reply:

Thats ok I have an email from my sales person at Disney 10 steps ahead of you.
The listing will be on and it will sell and I will be more then happy to shove it in your face
thanks for your time

I reviewed the add and though it's not terribly well written, I don't think it's especially misleading either. It is a new resort even if it's in a previous building. I certainly don't see anything I'd think is fraudulent or reportable.

This sounds like someone trying to make a buck! This sure sounds like a commercial renter! Did you notice he also has BCV up for auction too!

I would be irritated if I rented expecting to be in the brand new kidani village only to find out I AM in the lodge afterall. The new resort hasn't been "built" yet. It would have been more honest to describe AKV in December as the remodeled lodge rooms.

And claims to have rented previously so people should check his feedback. The BCV may be completely legit although at a crazy price. It's the AKV description that I believe is very misleading.

This is one of the main reasons I can't be worried about what Disney is doing with upgrades to SSR/OKW with thier own inventory, when you have DVC members using thier membership for commercial gain.

Just remember that on those dates that person "renting' might very well get that choice room someone else wanted and other members completely shut out of even booking then. At least with the current upgrades it is not affecting your chances of booking a room.

If the members are going to use the properties for thier own commercial gain why would anyone fault Disney for doing the same thing. :confused3

If he treats his "customers" this way.../

Now if you have his email address. There is always the IRS!!!!

I don't think it would be reasonable for one to expect the Kidani Village from the add as placed, that assumption would be on the buyer and could not be supported from the ad, IMO. Do you really feel that is what it says?

I suspect most people would respond that way in this situation, as it seems obvious Inkmahm sent a very negative email to this person. Actually I think the ebayer showed considerable restraint given the circumstances.

It says "it is not the Lodge but a brand new resort".

It IS the Lodge. It is the main building. It may be villas in the main building, but it does make it sound like it is a completely different resort - and it isn't yet.

It is a new resort, the Animal Kingdom Villas. I can see your point but I don't agree as it's being presented. Could it be that some are just peeved that it's a rental listing at AKV?

I don't own DVC. But if I was going to rent a villa, being told it's a new resort - I'd expect a fully new resort (like the WLV).

Would this add really confuse you? Would you truly not know what your getting if you rented this?
