Wow! Christian Bale has some anger issues!

Not exactly what I'm trying to say. Let me explain. What I am saying is that people just see this behavior as no big deal. We just become kind of immune to rude, offensive behavior and just shrug our shoulders. People yell and scream, push and shove, and it's no big deal. People get beaten on the street in front of witnesses and no one steps in. A pregnant woman gets pushed at WDW over a dang picture! And it doesn't seem to bother some people. In fact, excuses are made for the crazy behavior.

So, no I am not saying that you all would push over a pregnant woman. I'm saying that society has become so used to crazy behavior, that we will either stand by and watch, or make excuses for it. People are allowed to get away with such crazy behavior these days. It's very sad to me. 'Nuff said. I'm sorry if this bothers you though.

Well, it's not that I don't think it's a big deal - it's just that I wasn't there and don't know what proceeded the tirade. All I've got is a 4-minute audio which was posted on a gossip site who loves this kind of stuff.

They're going to try and drag that whole issue with his mother back into this again, and that was really just an ugly family issue that's been going on for years. He's not the only person that has ugly family issues, it's just that gossip sites salivate over them when it's the family of someone famous.

Of course it was inappropriate to scream at anyone like that. He should definitely apologize for it. But it's not that I'm complacent about it because I think it's a non-issue to anyone outside the production. I wasn't there. None of us were. We don't know what proceeded it or what the relationship was between them building up to this.

I also know in that industry that wasted shots cost tons of money, and it's an issue that's caused plenty of meltdowns in the past.

Would somebody please show me where this happened more than once?

We've already quoted here multiple times where he says "That's what you said last time, etc...", and this obviously sounds like an ongoing issue. Just power of deduction is all :thumbsup2

No actually it wasn't quoted but I would like to see where it could be quoted factually instead of paraphrasing.

I am unable to find the actual video that I saw last night, but the lighting director is much smaller in stature than Bale. There was a level of physical intimidation ("...going to kick your...") that is unacceptable, IMO. The lighting guy is obviously contrite, embarrassed and, I believe, physically threatened by Bale's tirade.

I did, twice.

If you are listening to the today show clip, it's only a little piece of it.
The article even states:

"Bale reportedly goes on to claim that the interruption is the second of its kind and is tough on him as an actor."

I only heard a piece of the recording on the radio this morning, and it was the part where he says what I paraphrased in one of my previous posts.

One must wonder why something from July 2008 is just now coming to light.

Thank you! That was very helpful. I wonder why its an issue now also since it happened 7 months ago.

I heard on the news that the tape was given to the movie company's insurance company as 'evidence' just in case Bale walks off the movie and doesn't complete it.

If I was the Lighting director, I would have hit him over the head with the light!!!!!!:cool1:

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo uncalled for and over the top!

The movie is completed now as far as I know.
Whoever released it must have an agenda.
I'd bet Bale took 5, calmed down, and he probably DID apologize.
July 2008 was a very stressful month for Bale.

Here is another piece of an article:

"But Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and associate producer on the fourth Terminator film, insists the star was only upset for a short period of time before his "moment" passed.

Franklin tells E! Online, "If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove... It was the most emotional scene in the movie. And for him to get stopped in the middle of it - he is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed."

And Franklin is adamant the rant has only been released to slander Bale, who he worked with on the 2000 movie Shaft: "This was my second movie with Christian, and it has always been a good experience with him. He is so dedicated to the craft. I think someone is begging to make some noise (controversy) about this, but I don't think it's fair. The art of acting is not paint by numbers, it's an art form."

The audio clip, allegedly recorded in July 2008, was obtained by TMZ.com, which claims the film's executives sent the tape to their insurance company in case Bale didn't finish filming the movie.

The 35-year-old actor was arrested in July in London - just days after the recording was said to be taken - over accusations he attacked his mother and sister at the city's Dorchester Hotel before the British premiere of The Dark Knight."

It must be HORRIBLE to be a Actor, what a :clown: !!!

Whoa... sounds like somebody needs a reality check.

Wasn't there an incident just after Batman first came out where the police were called to his hotel room by his mother, when he was fighting with his wife? I think it was in Europe... he was arrested if I remember correctly. To me, I gave him the benefit of the doubt when the mess blew up with his family because, well, some families are just so bad they'd make anyone nuts. But, this is the 2nd time this got out to the press in a few months an it screams to me that this is a pattern. If it got out twice I am sure the real count of this behavior is astronomical.

If that's how he treats another grown man I can't even imagine how he treats women & kids. What a loser.

The incident in the hotel in England was not against his wife. Apparently there has been an ongoing issue with his mother and the fact that he choose to live with his father after thier divorce. Their relationship has been strained.

There were words exchanged with his mother and sister. It was reported that they were saying things about his wife. His mother and sister went to the police station the next day (?) in a different district and filed a complaint stating that there was physical abuse. It was investigated and no charges were pressed. This outburst happened days after that incident.

And it ended up on TMZ because they pay nicely for stuff like that.

Hey, I'm only repeating what Meredith Vieira said this morning on the Today show clip provided in the first post.

"They released this tape to the insurance company in case he cuts out of the movie, they wanted proof...." then Al Roker said..."that he's crazy".

No one, I repeat NO ONE would talk to me like that. I don't care who they are. There is no excuse for it. You can get your point across in another way. My job is very stressful too but I would be fired (and rightly so) if I went off on someone like that.

I don't care what the person did or caused; Bale had no business going off like that, period. He should act more professional than that.

There are many talented actors that take their craft very seriously--and they do not act like that. In fact, there are many talented "intense" people in all types of careers and most of them do not act like that. Being talented, serious and intense does not give him the right to abuse other people.
