Wow! Christian Bale has some anger issues!

Interesting that you guys really don't see that he was out of line. Maybe that's why we hear such crazy stories over on the theme park board? I just read a thread where a 6 month pregnant dis'r was pushed because she made the mistake of stepping in the way of someone taking a picture.:confused3 Our society is sick!

Maybe i'm misinterpreting what you are saying, actually I hope I am. It sounds like you are saying that because we aren't jumping on the bandwagon and agreeing with you that we(?) or people like us are the reason their are rude people out there and are the cause of a pregnant woman being pushed?

Am I missreading what you wrote? I really can't see any other way to take it though.

I'm curious where you saw that the guy walked into the shot multiple times and how was he backtalking? I heard "I'm sorry" and I heard Bale ask questions and the guy answered hm calmly. :confused3

I'm curious also. I read it again and do not see that this happened more than one time. I also did not see any back-talk.

More excuses for horrible behavior.

Does anyone know what happened prior to this? For all we know, this might have been an ongoing thing between the two of them. Not that he should blow up like that but I doubt that we know the whole story.

Not exactly what I'm trying to say. Let me explain. What I am saying is that people just see this behavior as no big deal. We just become kind of immune to rude, offensive behavior and just shrug our shoulders. People yell and scream, push and shove, and it's no big deal. People get beaten on the street in front of witnesses and no one steps in. A pregnant woman gets pushed at WDW over a dang picture! And it doesn't seem to bother some people. In fact, excuses are made for the crazy behavior.

So, no I am not saying that you all would push over a pregnant woman. I'm saying that society has become so used to crazy behavior, that we will either stand by and watch, or make excuses for it. People are allowed to get away with such crazy behavior these days. It's very sad to me. 'Nuff said. I'm sorry if this bothers you though.

I don't see some of these examples in the same way as two people fighting (or maybe one person fighting and the other one staying calm?) I don't like the guy's behavior but I'm wondering if this isn't something personal between the two of them.

Whatever it is, Bale needs to apologize and move on.

No, I haven't heard. But from the the tantrum, it does sound like the guy stepped into the shot before.

Does it matter though? I can see snapping and yelling/swearing at a person in the heat of the moment. But Bale screamed for 4 minutes. That's a long time to scream at someone. He needs anger management. Alot of us love our work, have really stressful lives, and get angry from time to time, but we aren't given a pass when we act like maniacs.

I agree! If this is an unusual event for Bale then he needs to apologize. If he acts like this often he needs help and also to apologize. Again, none of us know if the two of them have butted heads before and that does make a difference IMO even if Bale way overdid it.

O.k, I see what you are saying. I'm probably being too philosophical today. But I'm bored and there are no good political threads for me to raise hell in, so I chose this topic.;)

He is a ****ing dingus.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. That makes more sense, and doesn't sound nearly as bad as I was origanlly reading it. :rotfl:

I'm not going to rush to judgement on him based on a 4 minute audio though. I know I have gone off before and then felt bad afterwards. I'm sure we have all done something like that and then regretted it. It doesn't make me a bad person though, or a prima donna or spoiled or any thing like that. It just makes me human.

I don't feel it's right to push and shove people, be offensive and threatening, rude or any of those types of things. I think that the majority of people feel this way, however, when it comes to stepping up and calling people on this behaviour, it just doesn't happen all that often anymore.

You never know who you are dealing with. They may have a gun or a knife, or they may just decide to jump you and start swinging. So, it becomes a matter of your own personal safety. It is extremly sad that our society has gotten to this. :sad1:

I have to listen to it again, because I didn't hear the guy "backtalk" at all. I could barely hear him say anything except "I'm sorry" . I don't care how intense his scene was or how dedicated to his craft he is, he went on a 4 minute rage screaming obscenities at a coworker. He didn't just step over the line, he jumped over it and kept on running. He deserves whatever flack he gets from this.

I agree. Bale was wrong. You don't treat another human being that way. The guy made a mistake. Bale went on a tirade, and it was inappropriate, and way beyond anyone's normal response. The guy has issues. Just because he's an actor, doesn't mean we should excuse his behavior because he takes his job seriously.

While I think Christian may have gone a bit over the top, that DP should know better. His actions not only caused Christian to have to redo the scene (and this wasn't the first time), but he cost the production money. Time is very much money on a production set. At the beginning of a scene, the production manger always calls "Quiet on set". That means nobody moves. Everyone stops what they are doing with the exception of the camera people who are shooting the scene. Any kind of movement in the background can ruin the scene.

As a dedicated actor, Christian Bale puts his heart and sole into each performance. It isn't easy to get into that zone. Many actors actually need time away from the set after doing an emotional scene to get their emotions back to normal. If interrupted during an emotional performance, I can easily see how that emotion could get redirected to the person who caused the issue.

There is something else to take into consideration. Bale lives in the UK. I hope this doesn't offend anyone from the UK, but it seems that the "F" word is used a lot more readily in common conversation in the UK than it is here. I often see visitors from the UK vising WDW and I am amazed at how readily that word is used. That could explain his use of "obscenities" a bit.

Is that backtalkig?

:confused3

I don't know that I'd call it backtalking, but it shows that it certainly wasn't a one-time occurence. Like Feralpeg said, it is simply something that should not have happened once, nevermind twice (or more). Then Bale would not have gotten so bent out of shape.

I listened to the tape. That's how I heard the guy backtalking, you can hear it multiple times, instead of just dropping it, he keeps on trying to make excuses.

And as another poster said, Bale even responds when the guy says "I'm sorry" with "That's what you said last time". Obviously the guy didn't get the memo the first time around.

And I'm sorry, I find no correlation between this and pushing a pregnant woman down. I mean, what?!?!?!?

Yeah, it was unprofessional and over the top, but profanity doesn't shock my delicate senses. Listening to the tape, I felt like I'd walked in on one of my husband's Italian club meetings.:lmao: I cracked up when Bale said, "You're a nice guy, but...":rotfl:

What the f*@k are you talking about? Just kidding, Ferlapeg! Maybe you are right about the cussing. Has anyone seen Hells Kitchen? He cusses up a storm on that show! I can't hide my love for Britain. I have pictures of 2 different Brits here. I have Keith Moon in my avatar, and John Oliver in my signature.

The cussing doesn't bother me either. It's the tone. I have to admit, the more I am hearing the tape (they just keep playing it on the radio station that I'm listening to) the more funny it is becoming. I crack up when I hear him so "OHHHHHHHH! You're sorry! Good!" I think it's the way he emphasizes "Oh".

Would somebody please show me where this happened more than once?
