We are just past the 90 day timeframe to book seats. I tried online, and got a "full" message. So I called them. The lady I spoke with told me they can only book 60% of their seats online before the flight, the other 40% must be booked at check-in.

We've flown tons and tons of flights and never had this happen to us. She noted in our reservation that we were flying with a small child and needed to sit together. Now I'm going to be very worried and stressed until we check in that we won't get seats together.

I remember flying Delta to FL a few years ago in August. We had our preassigned seats, luckly. For the gate agent was not able to assign families seats together. They were putting small children in seats apart from their parents.

This is not a good way to start our vacation.....

I too recently encountered a Spirit problem.....

There are 6 of us traveling & I was able to book all of our seats, but when I went to print our boarding passes, it would only let me print 4 out of the 6 of us.

I got really frusterated & called Spirit...They couldn't give me any answer as to why I couldn't print it......Just that I couldn't do it.

We'll see what happens at check in.....

Spirit is good with keeping you together. Just make sure you go to check in early. That way there are more choices for you to pick from. I have flown Spirit many times with small children and I have never picked my seat until I got to the Airport. You shouldn't have any problems. :wave2:

I had a problem with seat assignments with Spirit at Christmas last year. I booked our seats (4 total) online and printed out boarding passes. When we got to check-in, the clerk informed us that only one seat "took" through the online booking. Luckily, we were checking in early enough that we were all able to sit together. I asked the clerk how only one seat could register, but he had no explanation. Hopefully, if you check in early enough you will be able to get seats together.

wow, i had no idea.

i plan to book at 12:01 on my 90 day out based on what you all said.
seat assignment on line just stated 14 months ago and i would always just take care of that and boarding pass at the airport. always get there very early for that reason.
this year i planned to do all of that online. hoping it goes smooth.
do appreciate this thread. i learn so much.

i wonder if you book your seats over the internet if you can then call to confirm all your passengers have seats? or is there a place on line you can confirm your seat assignments?

The lady at Spirt I spoke with said the reps had no access to seating, it is only done over the internet.

I flew Spirit in Aprilfrom LGA to MCO and had a great flight. Ninety days before the flight the Spirit Air website would not let me reserve my seats. I tried a few days later and was finally able to reserve (85 days).

As with the comments by Tink10, I had reserved 6 seats over two separate reservations. I was only able to get a boarding pass for two of the six seats. I could not get 4 of the boarding passes in advance. However, I had no problem getting the boarding passes at the gate.

I find it hard to believe that all of the seats were reserved right at the 90 day mark. Perhaps there is a computer problem. Keep trying. When I reviewed my seat selection and checked what seats were still available, about 1 month later, I noticed that only a few more seats were reserved. This was for a flight that was booked solid. I don't think that the overall travelling population is as savy as DIS travelers and don't rush to reserve so quickly.

I also recall that there were large sections of seats that I could not reserve. I guess they are reserved for those who wait until checkin.

Good luck.

Thanks! I tried again & was able to book. In fact, I was the FIRST one booking on both flights!

Go figure.......
