WOW! Can Soarin be seen from BCV? Check out this link!

It can be seen very well from the BCV Epcot view villas that face the road. We were in one of these villas about 6 months ago and we could see and hear the construction site for this attraction quite well, unfortunately! :(

Well, if that is the case I wonder if they will have the backside of this look somewhat decent or is it going to be an eyesore and a view that nobody would want much like the dumpster at VWL? ;)

I wonder if they have even taken BCV into account?

Now another story would be if they did indeed build a water raft type ride in Canada like has been mentioned on the rumors board - this might be neat to view for the BCV. (For example the water ride at DCA view from GC resort.)

I personally hope BCV owners don't have a view of the service area for Soarin. :(

I guess the upside is at least they are working on revitalizing Epcot.

The photo shows it is in the construction stage and I think Disney is pretty good about "blending" their buildings in to the surrounding decor.

Isn't this going in where "Food Rocks" used to be? Across from Mission: Space? If so, it is well within the park. If I am wrong about the location, where will it be exactly? I doubt anything will ever be as eye-appealing as the VWL dumpster.:p

From what I read, the ride itself will be awesome. Hopefully, it will not be a problem for us at BCV.::MickeyMo

Let's see - 2 BCV stays coming up - we are sure to get X52 or X50 or X48 or so on down the hall and see this building looming through the trees

:earseek:

The entrance for Soarin' will be at the old Food Rocks attraction. That's in The Land pavilion, not anywhere near Mission Space. Food Rocks will only be the entrance to the attraction. The attraction itself will be all new construction.

Initially it will have the same film as the Soarin' over California version at DL, but supposedly they're going to make a Florida version of the film so it won't be all California.

I'm sure they'll keep the smell of oranges as you 'soar' over the orange trees as oranges work for either California or Florida.

It's a fun ride. We rode it several times while at DL's C.A. theme park.

Yep, they would be the villas that have the best view of this construction site. We were in, I believe, 448/450 and it was a direct view from our balcony.

We saw it from our studio room #375 last week ::::yawn::::

Not much to see except the top "crown"

I am anxious to ride it at EPCOT because the one at DCA was my favorite attraction at the park.

Wow that is pretty big. We were there in October and they were working on that, but it has really come a long way since then. It looks as if it might end up blocking some of the fireworks from the room too!

Terry,

From our room there was NOT a problem seeing the fireworks at all last week. The building did NOT interfere!

Does anyone know when this is scheduled to open?

OT - What is the age for this ride?

http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dlr/detail/attraction?id=SoarinOverCaliforniaAttractionPage

The Disneyland version shows a 40" minimum height - no age specification

"Health Disclaimer:
Guests should be in good health, and free from heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not participate in this attraction."

I think the opening date is early 2005

thanks

Thanks Jason. :)

It seems to me the majority of new rides they are building are not completely for the family, especially at Epcot. This makes Epcot's last three rides something my kids can't enjoy.

I am glad they are trying to revitalize Epcot, but there is a trend going here...

One of the reasons we haven't been to Universal yet is because I feel we need to wait until the kids are a tad older.

That is what makes WDW special, not everything has to be "thrill" to be enjoyed. Oh, well. I'm sure my kids will be old enough before I can blink. Now if my oldest would just quit being so "cautious"!
