I just booked a stay at Park Vue Inn for September. After staying there in the past, I asked about the 'extras' that they've always had. As of July 1st, they will no longer have:

Free water bottles
cookies/punch will be during check in ONLY
Free Welcome basket
Afternoon hors dorves (will continue to have breakfast tho)

This is a significant decrease in perks, so I thought people should know. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their beds and location, so I kept the reservation.

Are their beds super soft? I like sleeping on a soft bed and I need to pick an off site hotel for one night next Jan.

I'm not sure how to answer that. They are firm, but with a pillow top, as I recall. They're all pretty new, and I just slept sooo incredibly well, and woke up so refreshed, with no backache from an old mattress. Hope this helps!

Thank you for this info! I was ready to book a room there based on the extras but now I'm not sure.

Yes.thanks::yes::

Unlike a lot of people on this board, I don't think Park Vue's breakfast and hors dorves are very good AT ALL. When I'm on vacation, I'd like some quality food, and it's just not quality. What I'm going to miss are the free water bottles and grabbing a cookie on the fly :rolleyes1

Wow! That really sucks! We are arriving July 8th and one of the main reasons we picked Park Vue over say, BWPPI, was the perks! :(

Well you would think as a common courtesy to people who have had their reservations for a while, they would send an email telling them that the reservation they made and paid a deposite on based on information from them, will be changing  I have sent an email asking about this, I will reply to this thread when I hear back from them.

we stayed there in January specifically because of those perks. We will not stay there in the future if that is true. There are other close by options that are nicer hotels for similar prices. We factored the afternoon food and water bottles into our cost savings which made it worthwhile staying there.

Hi Crystalane,

Would you mind naming the other hotels that you consider nicer please. I am planning a trip in June 2013 and keep looking at hotels for 2 adults and 2 girls age 14 and 12. The more I look the more I change my mind I was thinking either the Park Vue or the Portofino what do you think of the Portofino?

A nice pool is important to us but we will be trying to keep everthing a cheap a possible as coming from Ireland the flights will be mega expensive.

Tks in advance.

OUCH!! I was planning on booking my adult kids stay there. Felt it was close, and loved the perks for my grand daughter. I am looking at other options now. I know I can pick up a case of water, and a bag of cookies, but it was the personal touches I felt made my decision to book there. THe hunt begins ....again! Between this news and my ticket fiasco with GAT my head is spinning and I am not feeling too excited about planning!:sad2:

Wow! This is a big let down for us, too. We booked our July trip with these perks in mind, to help save $ on water and food. I'm not too happy about this :sad2:

Interesting... We had always kept this place in the back of our minds, much like others have mentioned, due in large part to their perks. It will be interesting to see if there is a big enough outcry over this will they reinstate the perks.

Would you be willing to take e Anaheim Resort Transit system to the park or is it important for you to be walking distance? The drive is only
about 8 minutes. The stay bridge suites on Manchester is where we have always stayed because of the excellent value! Rooms have a kitchen, but they also have a full complimentary breakfast every morning (eggs, bacon, waffles, toast, fruit, etc.) and 'appetizers' a few nights a week that were more like full dinners. They also have a fantastic pool and hot tub.

Park Vue for four nights. 650.00 booked back in January. One of the reasons was the food offered. Figured it might save a couple hundred dollars. Now I am debating about booking the place we have stayed the last two years.
It's showing to be 360.00 for those four nights. However I am not walking the half to 3/4 mile to the park and paying for parking plus taking the tram to the gate over takes time that could be spent in the park.
I think I am going to keep the Park Vue reservations and just see if the convenience of being 5 minutes from the gate is worth the difference in price.

The cookies and water bottles were already gone when we were there last week. They still had the welcome basket and evening food, but the food was not that great. I posted in another thread that we were not pleased with our stay there. I'd rather stay further away than stay there again.

Were the rooms nice?

I am going back and forth but need to make a decision very quick. :(

oK, let me try again....
We stayed at the Park Vue last year. We stayed based on location and cost. The other things were nice, but not really that big of an impact on our decision.

Free water bottles- did not know they gave out more than what was in the welcome basket.

cookies/punch will be during check in ONLY- never stopped by the lobby just for these items, but did enjoy them if we stopped in for something else.

Free Welcome basket- liked the idea of it, but didnt really eat the fruit. Drank the water, and gave the wine to my inlaws.
Afternoon hors dorves (will continue to have breakfast tho)- really not missing much by this going away. It was not great. It was canned soup in a crock pot, bag of salad poured in a bowl and some hot items that were not great. We made it up there one afternoon and quickly decided it was not worth our time.
