Wow never knew how many married women were so eager and anxious to cheat on their husbands until I got on Facebook. Then there is the type that publicly posts about how great their husband is and all the great things he does, meanwhile she's cheating.

Then there's the two women politely chatting with each other about mundane things, both married, both not even knowing what they have in common which is they're both cheating with the same guy.

Even weirder one woman in particular is a great person, good mom, involved in all types of charities, posting on FBook about how great things are at home, but all while living a double life. I see now how FBook can cause so much drama, it's toppled governments I see so easily now how it can topple marraiges.

Hmmm, how do you know so much about these women's love lives? You have got some serious privileged information there. Is your SO clueing you in or are you going by what the guys say, or are you the guy everyone is cheating with?

Surely you can understand that the problems were occurring before they even got on Facebook.

And how do you know who's cheating with who?

:confused3

I am not doubting the power of FB to break up marriages, and I am sure the men are just as guilty.

But how do you what two people are chatting about...you cant see chat unless it goes into the Message folder.

Because I'm close with all involved. I'm sure your wondering, yes I've had my own share of "offers". The chatting shows up in my newsfeed from the public threads.

Then it is not chatting, they are posting on each other's walls.

And I agree with others, this is just a means to an end. If people wanted to cheat, they would find a way.

Once again the men are to blame too unless they are cheating with other females.

Are you sure you're talking about Facebook? I'm not the FB guru or anything, but this doesn't sound particularly feasible given how FB works.

My issues with Facebook is the airing of dirty laundry...particularly between exes. My cousin and his wife are in the midst of a divorce. It SHOULD have been pretty amicable, or at least private. However, she prefers to vilify him, call him names and act like a complete idgit on facebook. The best part is that their two boys (8 and 10) are FRIENDS with their parents on facebook and read every horrible thing their mom writes. I know she doesn't have security settings for them because they constantly run to their dad to ask why mom says such mean things.

Sad.

Isn't the minimum age on Facebook 13? Why in the name of all that's holy did she let her eight-year-old join? :sad2:

Anyways, yep, seen plenty of dirty laundry unfold on Facebook. One time, a friend of mine directed me to a page where I saw a 120-comment thread about a woman who left her fiance for someone else without even telling him! :scared1:

It also involved the phrase "why are u talking to me 4'. So these people were not just scandalous, they were just plain stupid, too. :rolleyes1

See what happened since they let women learn to read? First they start writing.... then they start sinning.

And Ides, of course you've had offers. They can't help themselves.

wow, your FB time is MUCH more interesting than mine! the only FB affair i've seen was my cousin's, last year. his siblings and i convinced him to get a FB page, and next thing we all know, he's friending ALL of my HS classmates (even the ones he's never met-his family moved away when we were in 8th grade) and hitting on all the single females! he started up a relationship with one of my former classmates, knowing full well his comments would show up on his WIFE'S newsfeed when she logged on. i'm not sure if he's still married, but the affair didn't last very long, and he's had 2-3 more since then that i'm aware of, but he's become much more discreet.
he's constantly posting on FB wanting to know where the parties are for the weekend or what's going on and where, so he can show up. he even finagled an invitation to MY HS reunion, and he didn't even graduate from my HS! needless to say, he has issues...

It is sad. Those poor kids. And it speaks volumes about her character.

This is a circle of friends, HS, reunion coming up and all, which is one of the reasons I got on. I honestly did not imagine that so many old GFs, that are almost all married, and post about how perfect their lives are, and their husbands are etc., are ready willing and able to lead the double life. I didn't really expect that at all. I thought I might reconnect with some people, but I honestly didn't expect it to be this crazy. It is literally like everyone still acts like teenagers, at least in private.

Wow, Ides, what kind of idiot friends do you have? Apparently all my friends are smart enough to keep that stuff on the downlo.:confused3

You do realize that most people who cheat aren't really looking to cheat. It isn't like they set out one day thinking "I'd like to cheat on my wife/husband. Who's willing???"

They tend to be missing something inside THEMSELVES, find validation and that "new love" connection and fall into cheating. Most cheating starts out on the emotional level with bad boundaries...flirting, attention and grows into a cheating relationship.

Facebook makes it VERY easy to reconnect with crushes, flirt and chat w/out your spouses knowledge. It is a place where boundaries are crosses easily.

YES, it is 100% the cheating spouses fault and they are responsible but Facebook opens up avenues to cheating that weren't there before. It makes it easier. Just like researchers in the 60's noticed that the growth of professional women in the workplace resulted in more cheating.

It certainly isn't Facebook's fault and it doesn't stop me from having an account but it isn't as black and white as people make it seem.

Beats the heck outta me.

Wow, I don't know a single person that's having an affair. I'm sure someone I know is actually having an affair, but if they are, I don't know about it.

It is on the downlo, I just know about it. Well I guess that means its not totally downlo, but people trust me in real life. And I'm sure I only know part of the story, I'm guessing there is alot I don't know, if I know this much.

Wait...am I confusing you with someone else? Weren't you contemplating an affair?
