I post on a college athletics board that has something like "good points". They call it "karma" and it is up to the mods to give you good or bad karma and it is on their whim and totally about how the tone of your posts sound and if they say what they want to see them saying. Honestly, I think we all ignore the "karma: -24 or karma: +9" that we see. I'm always nice on there because I let the guys go for the jugular, LOL, and post positives about the games/players etc. But I'm for the wrong team and I have - karma, LOL. Oh well.

No, I don't want anyone judging my goodness with points. I'll just let them scold me for rudeness etc. with bad points. Like I said, I have WW points and DVC points to keep up with. I don't need any other points to worry with!

BTW, the person who said "if you are really good you may get noticed and asked to be a mod" is already a mod. I don;t think there is much envy over who "gets" to be a mod anymore. We've seen too much of that high paying job!! LOL Too often the mods have to hold back with their true feelings because they are mods and that can't be any fun. Posting should be fun and about expressing your views (good and bad).

Actually I still do a lot of wild and wooly posts, but have always made it a point to try to stay within the rules. Some of my comments in this forum and the Singles Forum can be very weird. I have to be super-careful in the forums I moderate though. But in most of the forums I'm just myself.

Vbulliten has this abitlity. Its called a "rep" system. The more rep you have, the more your rep is worth, and your fellow posters give you points. If you do something bad, you can be nega repped. Which makes your rep go down.

The dis, however, doesn't use this.

Oh, so that's what those are. There's one board I belong to and have for a long time. I've got over 278 million reps.

Truth be told, I still don't understand what they mean or how I got so many.
