Would you?

I didn't read all the other answers, so I hope I'm not repeating this. Won't your older child want to pick out her own clothes? What if you pick out a pair of shoes that she wears all the time that aren't really comfortable? For instance they are a certain color and she wears them to go with certain outfits, but would kill her feet all day at Disney?

At your older daughter's age I would totally want to pick out my own clothes, and my own things to pack and bring with. Even at a younger age I would want to do that.

Also, as one of the first posters said anticipation is a HUGE part of the trip for me. We just took our 14 year old son and he really enjoyed discussing the restaurants, and choosing which rides/attractions we were going on. I love going to bed at night and dreaming about the vacation.

I'm just plain ol' not big into surprises. Often the person who wants to give the surprise is the person who loves surprises. This might not be you at all, but I have found it to be true.

I just think this could really backfire on you with your older daughter. You might not get that, "WOW thanks mom!" but instead hear, "I have to call Shanna right now because I promised her I would be at her party....."

Good point about the clothes but she does not have huge wardrobe and since we are going during snow season here and slightly warmer there it may not be as hard. Definatley something to think about though. Don't need a mad teenage daughter, lol. They are moody enough as is.
