title says it all. Reason we are asking is DH really wants tonga toast and I understand we can get it at Capt. Cook's @ The Poly so I was thinking one morning we could venture there for breakfast. Do you think is out of the way since we are at WL. I know we wouldn't get to any park exceptionally early, just looking for an opinion.

Yep, for sure. The Tonga Toast at CC's is just as good as at Kona. We are planning on grabbing some to eat on the beach before our MK day and we are staying at the YC.

We are actually doing the same thing because my DH wants to try the Tonga Toast too!

Take advantage of the variety and the change of pace. I'd definitely recommend going over to the Poly from the WL. No need to blow the budget on an expensive meal for the trip. Go over, get some CS, and enjoy the resort a little before getting on with your day.

For a scenic trip, you can take the launch either to the MK or the Contemporary and take the monorail to the resort. You can also take the bus to the TTC and walk to the Poly.

I was thinking about this too...we're staying at BWV. The way our plans will most likely go, we will have one extra CS credit on our trip from the DDP, so we plan to use it on breakfast on a non-park day. Tonga Toast at the Poly came to mind right away!! I guess it will be worth it! How late do they serve it? And does it get super crowded there by a certain time?

Do you know if you can request fruit other than bananas in the Tonga Toast at CC like you can at Kona?

Yes, Capt. Cooks..in fact we've eaten there and Kona and sometimes Ohana alot. Never stayed there though. I'd only go for CS breakfast if there was something special only at that place..like the Tonga Toast!

If you've never had it, keep in mind that Tonga Toast is really, really, really (Did I mention REALLY) sweet. I have a sweet tooth the size of a wooly mammoth's...and I could not eat 1/2 of a single order of tonga toast: it's that sweet. I'd suggest you get one order of tonga toast to split, and then something a lot less sweet to fill up on. If you decide it's not too sweet for you, then get another order (doesn't take long to get food at CS)

We travel to Capt'n Cooks for the Tonga Toast actually went there 2 times in Sept. (guess we like sweet stuff) it is large so you could split it. And we travel to Riverside for the made to order omlet. We have been driving a rental car lately to the resorts and to the parks so it is easy to get to. Go there on a MK park day and take the Momo to the park.

No I wouldnt go for a CS breakfast...the foods are just about the same everywhere. If I am going to travel to the Poly for Tonga Toast I would go to Kona instead so I can get the pressed pot coffee, the macadamia nut pineapple pancakes and DH would get the tonga toast.

We are considering doing the same thing. Our kids are going on the pirate cruise from the GF, and we might take the mono. over to the Poly to give Tonga Toast a try. :goodvibes

Okay .... I'l bite :rotfl2: what is Tonga Toast???

So many of you are talking about ,,, I gotta know what I'm missing.

We plan on going to other resorts food courts mainly because our resort's food court is very pricey compared to others (we're staying at CSR) and I want to check out some of the other resorts. We will use our own also but probably not too much.

Only for Tonga Toast and because Poly is a MR resort so you can get there easily (if using DT). Otherwise no.

Wow! And I checked the menus on allears and it's half the price! Do you get the same portion? Anyone know if there is any way to get the 'Ohana pineapple bread at CC's?
