Would you take this situation to a higher, corporate level?

OK, so he then asked us what he could do for us? I think they should have taken off some from our room, or something. He said something about taking off the parking fee ($18)... I don't know, what do you think would be fair compensation for being made a fool of and basically been called a liar? He gave us his card and told us to call him the next time we choose to stay there.

.

nothing, we wouldnt have even taken that. My husband and i look at this, we dont want any "hand outs " or "freebies" when a business does something like that to us. We just say we will never come back and tell our friends about how bad it was.
we did that at a resturant almost a year ago now, we had the worse serves know to man, we complained to the manager about it and she wanted to give us our dinner for free. my hubby said no, that we will never come back here. Still to this day, we have not gone in there

I would certainly wanted to know if any of my staff had acted that way...In the days of tripadisor.com, we cannot be too careful on how we treat our clients.

If I did not beleive the customer, I would have gone to SEE THE ROOM...Then I would have seen it or could have measured the size of the bed for the customer if it was actually a King...but I never would make someone feel stupid...Never.

As for people being judgemental on this thread... to each their own, but as a motel owner I totally see the CUSTOMERS point of view...

I had someting similar happen when I was at store one time and the sales lady kept insisting she had given me the receipt...She kept saying loudly that I must have lost it..I had not moved from the counter...It happened to be under the bag when she finally gave me my purchases and did not say sorry...I was just as peeved.

How about shame on the person who has twice now resurrected this sad thread? How about that?
I'm so sorry if the free time that I have to post doesn't fit into the time period that you think it should.

It is not like the thread is weeks or months old. If the OP doesn't want people to continue posting to her thread, she can have it locked. Or maybe she shouldn't post at all if she is just going to fuss at the people who have differing opinions.

And it is funny that you should say that when you have contributed to the longevity of this thread every time you have posted to it (which is more times than I have, I might add).

Oh, you are so right. She should have had it locked and then had everyone screaming that she was a baby for running to the moderators. And I should have let you have your say and just kept my mouth shut.

I PMed Mercy this morning and told her that I didn't want to revive the thread (it had been dead since the previous day) but that I was sorry she got beat up and I would have supported her if the thread was still alive, and she seemed glad that it was supposedly dead and off page 1.

But you decided you needed to have your say and revive it, so I decided it was my opportunity to support her. This afternoon, it was dying away again, and in you ride to kick up the dust.

You're right, though, it's the internet, where every nut gets to have their say. I keep forgetting that.

But what if they sent you a size 12 and you sent it back saying you needed a size 14 and they kept sending the 12 back to you telling you it was a size 14? Wouldn't you start getting a little ticked off? :)

Isn't that what really got her mad?

I would thank them for thinking I'm thinner then I am ;)

Really, I do understand but it would not be an issue for me. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff!!!

There were very few posts that were straight up rude. The rest were people who disagreed with you. You are overreacting to this thread, so now I find it hard to believe that you didn't overreact in the hotel.

I was just thinking the same thing! She asked for opinions and most posters were polite in replying.

Well, if it makes you feel any better Mercy, I agree with you 110%. Their attitude and attention to the customer is disgraceful. I too work in customer service and an attitude like that would find me standing in the unemployment line. Absolutely contact someone. I agree with the person who posted about people being too complacent. What about next time this happens to someone? How long can the night staff act that way before they start running off business? How much will those poor, underpaid folks make when no one is checking into that hotel for the lousy crappy service they offer? Sheraton should know exactly what went on.
I'm sorry for the attacks too. Seems some people here live to disagree and then go on to belittle others by telling you not to post if you don't want their answers  . You shouldn't have to defend yourself here either. So much for the magic of disney...sure doesn't exist here.

I own a MOTEL / Chalet business and I WOULD NEVER have made a customer feel that way and if I did, I would have made it right...

It's not a LITTLE thing if you are made to feel like a liar...

To me this is the bigger issue! And why I would have been upset.

Well, I can see you are just as prone to overreacting as the OP. So now I am a nut because I posted to a thread to give my opinion. Call me what you want, but I did not call the OP a name like you just called me. I said she was overreacting, and I stand by that.

Keep responding, though. You are keeping this thread alive!

Tigger&Belle... THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I WAS SO UPSET!! It had nothing to do with sleeping in a queen bed or a king bed or whatever.

I really didn't want to post again, and take the chance of being further attacked. But it just seems like people here are just not getting it, I think you do! There are a few others. I find it hard to believe that anyone here wouldn't be upset by being called a liar to their faces, and then snickered at in front of them either, I just don't buy it.
