Would you take a double stroller?

Whatever stroller youbring, you will need to fold it for the buses. In most cases, that means emptying the stroller.

I realize I will need to fold either one. However our double has a much larger foot print folded then our two umbrella strollers. Maybe the problem is with our choice of double.

We took our BJ Double last fall. It was a bit of a pain to get it folded and onto the bus, well not for me, but DH is now saying it wasn't that fun. We are looking to bring a dble again but something a little smaller and lighter.

Ours is a double jogger so that would be our problem too. Of course DH will be the one dealing with it so I guess I can let him decide. I guess I could go buy an umbrella style double that might be more managable. But I hate to buy another stroller.

We used a graco double wide (our joke name for it) for dozens of trips to disney when the kids were younger. We had no problems with it.

The umbrella strollers just didn't work as well in the parks for us, they don't recline, they don't offer sun protection, they're too short so you're hunched over the handles, and there isn't any storage underneath.

We were actually kind of sad when they finally outgrew it and we said goodbye to the stroller and sent it to Goodwill-the mileage on that thing must have been CRAZY...

We preferred the double wide to the long ones because it allows DH and I to walk side by side behind the stroller, and the double wide pivots and turns on a much shorter axis (think minivan vs 18 wheeler going left or right) than the long double strollers, so it's easier to move around the parks (imo).

Also, if you "personalize" your stroller it's much less likely to be stolen or accidentally taken. Our had bumper stickers on it from the science museum in our home town and a few other permanent accessories that made it very obvious that it belonged to us. Helped us not to confuse ours, either, because there were a ton of navy blue double graco strollers there back around 200-2005....

Also the double wides don't have the kids arguing who gets to sit in front with an unobstructed view (they're pretty close in age and both would have wanted the front).
