I booked water view Yacht Club for DH and I to spend a long weekend the end of the month. I am very luke warm on the new rooms and really do not want an old room (although most seem to be updated at this point). We went with this because Beach Club had no discount (AP, summer room only) available for our stay and Boardwalk only had standard view and I think I like the YC décor a bit more than BWI. I was looking at only those 3 for walk to HS/Epcot, Jellyrolls and Yachtsman Steakhouse where we plan to have our splurge on dinner night. We don't have a set schedule for parks, etc but now knowing we have keys to the kingdom tour booked for one of the days and will be going to MK after all and we will be checking out AK at least 1-2 of the 4 days I am rethinking staying at a MK area resort. Our favorite is The Poly and it has standard view available for $70 more per night and for $100 more per night. Or we could stay at the new Copper Creek Villas which open only 4 days before we arrive. We have stayed at WL and loved it as well and I imagine the brand new villas and new Boulder Ridge bar make it even better. The money is always a consideration but not a huge deal I just want to get the most out of our time since we only have 4 days. If we stay at a MK resort we may switch our dinner reservation to Artist Point or one of the other MK resort restaurants. I know everybody has differing tastes but just curious WWYD?

I would try the new villas at Copper Creek. That way you try something new and you'll be close to MK for your tour. The new Boulder Ridge bar is really nice. We didn't eat but sat and had drinks. Loved the atmosphere!

I'd keep YC water view. As you mention, for a short trip there's lots around that area and walking to 2 parks. It's easy to get to MK from YC.

I would stay at Copper Creek. It's brand new, beautiful and as you said, cheaper than Polynesian.

I would try Copper Creek as well!! LOVE trying new places.

We are staying at the BC now and we have stayed at the WL many times, too. The bus to AK from the YC/BC is a shorter ride than the bus to AK from the WL. The WL bus shares with the Contemporary, which makes the trip to AK about 25 minutes long. The bus to AK was only about 15 minutes from the BC.

We stopped at the WL yesterday and the new pool is gorgeous. You can't go wrong staying here. either. It is easier to get to MK from here. :)
