Would you switch from Saratoga to Boardwalk?

I orginally exchanged into Saratoga in April. I was then offered the opportunity to switch to Boardwalk instead for an extra $139. They are both for 1BR units. What would you do?

Thanks!

Is that an extra $139 total? Or an extra $139 per night? If its the total then I'd do BWV. Having stayed at both places I just prefer the location at the BW more. But if its an extra $139 a night I would just stick with SSR.

Sorry. It's an extra $139 total. The original exchange fee into Saratoga was $139, so I'd just have to pay it again.

If the money isn't an issue I would also switch. The location of the BW is so much better, more to do, more convenient. I would go for it.

I just came back from OKW, which is the same set up at Saratoga. I hated every minute I was there, the place is OLD and dirty and just horrible to be at! You spend more time on the bus then you do anything else.

I would stay at the BWV!!!

Id definitely switch. The location alone would be more than worth it.

I would say either is a good choice. Boardwalk is convenient to Epcot and MGM Studios. Saratoga is newer and the rooms are very nice. The decor is quite different (Saratoga has darker wood and colors and Boardwalk is lighter and brighter.)
It really just comes down to a personal preference.

Are you driving? Parking at SSR is much easier than at the BWV. You park closer to your villa with multiple parking lots vs one large parking lot at BW where you might have to fight for parking with the people looking to park for free for Epcot and Disney Studios.

Are you into the Pleasure Island scene? Then SSR is within walking distance and at BWV you will have to drive or take the bus. BWV has the piano bar and one other venue for adults. But you are within walking distance to Epcot and Disney Studios.

SSR is newer than BWV.

SSR has two themed pools and at least two other non-themed pools. BWV has one themed pool (with the scary clown that regurgitates you when you use the slide) and one non-themed pool on the villas side. I think you can also use the pool on the BWI side (also non-themed).

BWV has the BW shopping venue, while SSR has the DTD shopping venue.

BWV has a few dining opportunities on the BW or via the other hotels there, plus the Epcot World Showcase dining (if you have the park ticket to enter). SSR has Artists Palette (upscale counter service), the turf club (table service), plus the DTD dining venues. Both will have a nearly identical kitchen.

Disney Transportation - all buses at SSR with multiple stops at the resort vs boat or walk to Epcot and Disney Studios, bus to AK and MK with one stop shared with Swan/Dolphin.

BWV is set up as a hotel like resort = one building. SSR is set up like a community resort = multiple buildings.

Personally, I've stayed at the BWV once and won't do it again. I've stayed at SSR twice and would do it again in a heartbeat. And we love OKW.

ITA...I like the rooms better at SSR but the location of BWV...I think it would depend on your plans while at WDW.

It depends on what you want.

Saratoga is "more like" apartment home with the peace and beauty that you return to each day. This resort is not directly linked with a Theme park by either boat or a short walk. It is however in close proximity to Downtown Disney.

The Boardwalk is alive and glistenting. A multitue of Restaurants and shops await you. It is a short walk (5 minutes) to Epcot and a little bit of a more of a stroll to MGM (15 minutes at most). The Boardwalk is linked by boat to both MGM and Epcot as well.

Whichever of the two beautiful resorts you decide to stay at->have a great time!

We own at SSR and stay at BWV or BCV....just like the atmosphere more and being by EPCOT for dinners.

I stayed at Saratoga in a one bedroom and loved it. It was very clean and we loved to be able to walk to Downtown Disney. If you dont like waiting for the bus, you can walk from all buildings to the main building which is the first stop and be the first to get on a bus. There are about 4 stops until you leave the resort but it truly isnt bad at all. The food court and pool were awesome. We had a great time.
