We are currently booked at CBR(FTP) I called and at the time WL was still available if we want to swtch, but our only reason is because we are concerned over the busses at CBR. I have also heard negatives over WL busses...any help out there?
Just for that reason, no. The bus service is about the same anyplace. The NORMAL wait is 15 to 20 minutes. Sometimes you get lucky and you don't have to wait and sometimes you get the WHOLE wait. The only difference is that at WL you can take the boat to MK, but the wait for that can be just as long as the bus. CBR is also located closer to Epcot and MGM so your ride will be shorter.
WL is a very nice hotel and if there are other reasons then go for it!
There are exceptions, but I have arrived at bus stops before guests in the past and listened to them YELL at the driver or call on the phone because they have been waiting HALF an hour. Of course I have only been waiting 10 minutes so...... sometimes I just ignore those posts. I know that I don't have ANY patience for the bus and I only ride it to MK. I just drive everyplace else. That is not to say the buses are not good, I just am not patient!
Both WL and CBR have FINE transportation. No matter where you go, you will always hear someone saying they never waited less than 3 hours for a bus, and blah blah blah.
Although some random service issues may happen... (Murphy's Law flourishes down here), but the vast majority of all service issues are exaggerations.
A common misconception is that if there are a lot of people at a stop, they've been waiting long. Not always true. What IS true, is that it might FEEL like 30 minutes, when it was only 15. When excited and revved up... or tired and falling asleep, 15 minutes can sometimes feel like an eternity. And of course, the domino effect - once one person says "I've been waiting 2 hours!" all of a sudden, so has everyone else.
At any rate... pick whichever RESORT you feel you'd enjoy the most. Don't worry about transportation... leave that to us.
Safetymom and Tyler...you guys must be BEYOND sick and tired of my transp. fears....thanks for always offering logical and practical advice. We just don't get to WDW very often and like everyone, hope to have as much time as we can to enjoy the parks. We are ones who enjoy a "tropical" atmosphere while on vacation, so we will be keeping our CBR ressies.
thanx again for the help!
Pam
I just spent this week at WL and I think the buses worked great from the resort. The waiting time we had was at the parks to get back to the resort and even that was bearable.
We had one long wait at AK, but it was not for the bus, but that the driver had to load wheelchair passengers and it took some time to do. She worked as fast as she could and standing by the back door, it appears that is not an easy task.

It depends on the bus, and the wheelchair itself. Each wheelchair is completely different, and it can sometimes be difficult to find safe areas to attatch the straps. Safety is our number one priority, so if it means taking a bit longer to make sure everything is secure, we will do it. Time well spent, I think.
