Would you stay at the Beach Club or the GF for 3 nights??

OK, if the $ was not the issue, what resort would you stay in?

What are the pros / cons to each resort? We will have one teenager and one 2 yr old.

We've done short stays at both. I personally prefer the GF, but the BC is very nice as well. Either decide which theme you like better, or which parks you'll be visiting more (MK vs Epoct/MGM).

I have never stayed at GF, but have stayed at BC and loved it. The pool area is great, the restaurants are wonderful(Clam Bake) and the location is the best(in my opinion). You have easy access to Epcot, MGM along with a great selection of restaurants at boardwalk. While GF is considered to be elite, I have no interest in ever staying there. The theming there is not for me!

Although the BC is a beautiful resort, my choice would be the GF. The pools were much more enjoyable (SAB was so crowded and must be worse now with BCVs open) and we loved the monorail convenience to MK & Epcot (as well as to a wide choice of restaurants).

I would pick BC over GF in a heart beat. But part of the reason why I would pick it is because I do not like the "feel" of the GF. I haven't stayed at either, but I have roamed around a lot at both and even had the opportunity to pooh hop in 2000 and checked out the different pools (due to the main pool at the Poly being closed). I love the location of both the GF and the BC, but I think I'd pick the BC's location. I usually wind up spending equal time at Epcot and at MK and I don't mind having to bus to MK and I love the walk from that area back at night

I've stayed at both. I'd take the Grand Floridian...hands down.

The Beach Club is nice and I loved it there but it does not hold a candle to the Grand Floridian EXCEPT for location near Epcot and MGM.

Beach Club. GF is nice but I feel it is a little stuffy, just not my style. GF does have better dining, we really like Citirico's and Narcossee's. BC so close to EPCOT and Boardwalk gives you access to some fine dining too.

Well, it would be a more clear-cut choice if your kids were closer in age! We have stayed in both, and much prefer BC. We had a very bad experience at GF, though I'm sure it was unusual. GF has the monorail access to MK for your little one, and BC has the access to Epcot and MGM for your teen. However, both would like the pool at BC better. It has a large "beach" pool area for little kids, and the rest is a water park type facility that the teen would love. And Beaches & Cream is well known for quick meals and ice cream sundaes! My DD thought the new GF pool rather boring, perhaps because our very first stay was at BC. You can't go wrong with either choice, though, you'll be staying in Disney's finest! Diana

We've never stayed at the BC, but have stayed at the GF twice and absolutely loved it! If money were no object, we would always stay at the GF.

We've stayed at both resorts and really enjoyed ourselves in each. For us, BC seems a bit more relaxed but the GF is stunning. One of the biggest differences is the location. If you are going to the Magic Kingdom alot - GF is way more convenient. If you are an Epcot-phile (like myself) - BC cannot be beat. The Boardwalk area is lots of fun too - always something going on. GF does have great proximity to the Contemporary and Polynesian if you feel like resort hopping. Our stay in the GF was wonderful and luxurious - the resort is breathtaking and pristine. Our stay at the Beach Club was fun and active - the resort is not as elegant as the GF but still beautiful and SAB is great! Wow - what a choice - you will love either resort!!

would be my choice. In fact, we frequent the YC and BC. Last year we decided to try something different so we booked GF. It's a beautiful resort, the service was great. Room was spacious and very clean. But, when we woke up the next a.m. and checked out the pool, we just couldn't stay away from Stormalong Bay. So we switched over to BC. Another reason is because we love the Epcot resort area. Love walking to World Showcase.

Either resort is lovely. I would say to ask yourself two questions then decide:

1) will I be spending more time at Epcot/MGM or MK? Then the choice is obvious

2) which theme do I like?

You can't go wrong either way.

I am going to stay at BC this XMas and I am really excited to be staying so close to World Showcase and Boardwalk. I think it will be great to be able to walk over to MGM and World Showcase. I have stayed at GF and perhaps my expectations were too high, but we weren't overly impressed. Sure it was nice, but not THAT nice. As both are deluxes, you can expect similar amenities. BC is closer to more options that can be reached on foot than GF, but GF overlooks the Magic Kingdom. Who can beat that? Either choice will be great - just don't expect GF to exceed the other deluxes in terms of service and amenities.

I will throw another vote the BC way. You might want to consider YC as well, especially if you want to be guaranteed a room with a balcony as all YC rooms have balconies, while some of the BC rooms have no balconies, or postage stamps for balconies.

As others have said the Boardwalk area can't be beat for the nightly entertainment and sit down restaurant choices. SAB is still the best pool on property IMHO, and you can do a walk or bike around Crescent Lake and catch Illuminations without having to go into WS. You can also walk to MGM, but with a 2 yo I don't know if that would be an option at this point.

Another plus is that you do have access to MK via the monorail from Epcot, but it is somewhat of a hassle and lengthy trip, but it can be done.

As another poster stated, you have to ask yourself what parks you will be frequenting the most.

I would chose GF even though I think BC has a better pool. I like GF because it's on the monorail and it is a great atmosphere. They have two pools and one of them has a slide and the other has a hot tub. We have stayed in GF 2 times in this summer will be are third time. And I wouldn'y mind staying again and again.
