Would you report this as credit card fraud?

How long has it been since you initiated the order? How many days? How many days did it take for the transaction to post to your account? How many days has it been since the transaction posted? How many times have you contacted this sales rep?

If you purchased from a rep, odds are that the goods you ordered are being shipped from a distribution center. Depending upon how far you reside from the rep and the distribution center will probably have an impact on how long it takes for you to receive the items.

Your credit card statement should have a reference number for the sale. At least that's something to start with...

Did you have to set up an profile on the website when you ordered? Can you go back in and check your account there?

Back when I did direct sales for a company, we didn't necessarily email confirmation numbers/emails out to our customers. I would get a confirmation of the order going thru, but not each individual customer. So I'm going to guess that could be a possibility here as well. Since you didn't name the company, it's hard to say if anyone has had any personal experience and how it went but did you ask any questions like will the product ship to your or the distributor?

I can see why you are curious but I also don't know that I would panic after one failed phone attempt and a couple unanswered emails - for all you know the distributor is on vacation or has personal things popping up. No all direct sales reps are quick about responding depending on how involved they are with the business.

I just don't understand why everyone is giving the OP such a hard time about this. Like no one could ever get scammed on the internet by a shady seller. I know I have, bought a dvd series that shipped to me from china with a cracked case, after I lot of back an forth I got a return shipping label, never got a refund and the website was shut down a month later. It was a $65 mistake, not huge but at the time it definitely made an impact. That's why services such as Apple Pay, Pay Pal, google checkout, amazon checkout, do so well. Because there is a need for it.

I would wait to see if I got the items I ordered, if after say 10 days nothing I would dispute the charges with my credit card.
My SIL had one of those bag parties (the name escapes me) and I didn't go to the party but I placed an order through a link in an email she sent. I never received an email confirmation but I got my bags within 2 weeks.

I was one of the first employees at Visa International (parent company that licenses all banks that issue Visa cards) and spent my career there. I wrote many of the Op Regs (operating regulations). What I am going to post has to do with Visa but MC is very, very similar. And I think AmEx and Discovery are too.

The credit card Op Regs have no requirement that you receive a receipt. You would not get very far with that complaint. What is critically important is that you actually receive the merchandise you ordered. "Non receipt of product ordered" is a valid chargeback reason. it then becomes the responsibility of the merchant to prove that you did receive what you ordered.

I recently bought a patio set at Sears online and paid almost $100 extra for delivery and set up. There was no setup - in fact they left it in my driveway; they did not even take it to the back yard. I went back and forth with Sears for weeks - they would schedule set up and no one would show up. Finally a team showed up but they said they did not do set up but they asked if I wanted to just sent it back. My husband was there for this and sent it back. He did not get any receipt that it was actually picked back up.

I got no refund (the entire purchase price and delivery was almost $1000) even after about 5 LONG phone calls to Sears trying to get this resolved. I filed a "non receipt of product or services" complaint online with Chase (Disney Visa). It was resolved almost immediately. Chase called me once to get it straight as to what had happened. It immediately came off of my CC. Sears called a few days later to apologize.

My advice is to see if you actually do receive the goods you ordered. if not file a CC claim for non receipt of product. It should be resolved fairly simply after that.

This is not fraud. You provided the merchant with your card number to make a purchase. Please do not report the charge as fraudulent. You will lose your claim since the merchant can probably prove that you made the purchase. If you do not receive any goods after allowing the merchant adequate time to deliver them, you can dispute the charges with your financial institution for non-receipt.

I don't know if I would get too worried after three days. I don't think three days is very long in the grand scheme of things. Yeah, I'd expect e-mail to be instantaneous, but depending on how they close out their sales it could take longer.

Some DS companies don't send emails unless you check that box. Did you check the box to receive emails about your order? You probably don't have an email of shipping notification because 3 days is a bit short of a time frame for shipping. The consultant may have been away or working and not seen your messages. I wouldn't really think 3 days is a lot to be concerned about. What company is it?

Was it an established company? Mary Kay, Tupperware, Pampered Chef... something like that I would not worry just yet.

If you really are stressed about it, contact the company and explain the situation. Chances are with your information and that of your hostess, they can track the order.

If I'm reading correctly your problem probably isn't with the consultant but with the DS company. I sell for a popular DS company. If someone orders through my web page the transaction is fully handled by the DS company -- I have nothing to do with it. I pay the DS company $10 a month to have a web page under my name with them in hopes someone stumbles upon my page and orders in which case I get commission from the order.

So what's happening with this problem? Any news?

I am an independent consultant with two direct sales companies. Your representative or consultant should be able to send you a receipt.

I work with many other independent consultants with other direct sales companies and so far, I have not heard of a company where a consultant can't send you a receipt. Company A sends the receipts for me. I send all receipts for orders made with me, via web or other contact, with Company B. I send receipts within 24 hours of notification of an order.

Contact the home office of the direct sales company giving them your consultant's name, the state, your name and the date of the purchase on the website. Give them the full website address where you ordered. They can find your order with that information.

Thanks for the help guys. After 4 (!!!!) seperate calls being transfered from person to person we finally got it figured out when my box randomly showed up at my door. No tracking number was ever provided to me (even on the phone with customer service all they could see was "pending"). So I'm happy I received my product but not happy with the way it was handled. Still to this day no one can provide me with any receipt.Thankfully I am happy with the product so I see no need to return it. But as for customer service, I'm still showing as "pending" in their system (I called after I received it to let them know).

I wouldn't worry too much about it showing as pending. I have a Coach purchase from June 2014 still showing as processing and it's been over a year since I successfully received that order.
