Would you recommend an offsite if we do more than Disney?

We're trying to decide if we'd like to do onsite or offsite if we go in the early fall. We'd like to see SeaWorld as well (maybe universal) so would you stay onsite or off? It has been awhile since I have been there and never stayed onsite so I can't remember how far away the other attractions are to Disney.

We have 3 kids. Any suggestions for a "middle ground" type property?

The main question I would have is "Will you have a car or not". If not then stay onsite at Disney for at least the Disney part of your stay then move nearer to Seaworld or at one of the onsite Universal hotels.
If you have a car then you could stay somewhere in Lake Buena Vista area in be central to both or you could still stay at Disney then off site.

We'll have a car at least part of the time if we fly, but more than likely we will drive. I don't think we can swing airfare for 3 kids, so we'll either have a car all the time or rent one part of the time we're there.

I guess I'll go weigh in rates for off-site vs onsite with the 4/3 promo.

A couple nice places you could consider if you do decide to stay offsite are:

Marriott's Grande Vista, Cypress Harbour, and Horizons resorts.

Sheraton's Vistana Villages and Vistana Resort
Cypress Pointe Villas

These are all an easy drive to Disney as well as the other parks.

the onsite 4/3 promo includes wdw tickets - so you are hurting your budget to go offsite then.

We are having a hard time deciding this too. We also want to go to SW and KSC. We are going to buy non expiring tickets and the deal for that is so good with the 4/3. It would save us $300 to get them that way.
But, we really like WH and would love to have 3 BRs.

Geesh I didn't realize the dates for the 4/3 promo so we'll be bumping this trip WAY up. I can get a decent deal on POR but it looks like alot of the spaces are booked up so I put that on deposit. 2130 for a family of 5 for the week isn't too terrible.

Thanks for your help!

There are off site resorts that also offer the 7/4 promo.
Of course I think on site is best.
You can book 7 for 4 WDW or off site (Good Neighbor Hotels) by calling Disney. :thumbsup2
