Would you recommend 1900 Park Fare?

We're thinking of cancelling one of our existing reservations and rebooking at 1900 Park Fare. DH and DS (who's 12) are both robust eaters, so a buffet is always appealing to them. DS and I are both finicky diners, so buffets usually go over well because we can pick what we want and leave what we don't! :thumbsup2 It would also be great to see the Grand Floridian in person.....we likely wouldn't take the time to otherwise.

So.....just wondering what people's recent experiences have been here. Good? Bad? How was the character interaction?

Looking forward to hearing your responses :flower3:

1900 Park Fare was IMO one of the better character buffets we've been to. Lots to choose from and everything was very tasty. The character interaction was good. I would go there again. :)

it would depend on which reservation you would cancel for Park Fare. If you had a small girl child then my answer would be YES hands down. I am so glad we switched reservations from LTT for Park Fare. I am sad that we didn't get to eat @ LTT before the character dining is eliminated ,but seeing my DD4 dance in awe with Prince Charming was priceless.

We loved the food and character interaction. Prince Charming gave dd15 extra attention. Cinderella posed with each child. The stepsisters flirted with ds13. Stepmom scared us all.

No small girl children in our family (just one boy, a very tall 5' 9" soon-to-be 13-year-old  ).

Something tells me he might enjoy flirting with those stepsisters though......:lmao:

I ate at 1900 Park Fare for dinner last month and really enjoyed the characters. However, I thought the food was not good at all. It was a bizarre combination of unfamiliar French, Italian, and Asian. Even the desserts were just so-so. The kids section might be okay--it was mac and cheese and pizza. The strawberry soup (the real reason I wanted to eat there) was good, but not at all what I expected. It just tasted like strawberries pureed and mixed with cream.

My ds13, Jake, is tall and a comedian too! Must be the name. :) He thought he could crack the stepmom up. Your son would have a fun trying to get her to laugh. She is a tough one.

Flirting with the stepsisters would be funny. My son who thinks he is Romeo had a red face the entire meal. :rotfl2:

I do want to say the food is different. My dd15 is not to picky but she found things to eat such as: kids pizza and mac & cheese, Italian food, and salads. I agree with the pp. I was somewhat disappointed at the limited amount and variety of desserts.

We went for breakfast and enjoyed ourselves. The food and service were good and we enjoyed the character interaction. The Mad Hatter and Alice were cracking us up!! And Mary Poppins spent a lot of time with my sister when she found out she was DSis's favorite character (even though DSis is 24). No complaints and it was definitely worth it to spend time in the GF. Just walking around had my dad convinced we should find a way to afford to stay there. :)

We have eaten dinner there. DH is not a big buffet fan and he still says that is the best buffet he has ever had.:thumbsup2

Thanks for this - I have been trying to get ADRs for dinner there. My daughter would croak if she got to meet Prince Charming!!

I love hearing that they draw the young guys into the fun as well. That was one of our worries....that he might feel out of place amidst the girls.

So glad to hear the positive. We are eating dinner there with our two sons. I thought it might be fun. DH wanted me to cancel because it sounds too girly but I convinced him it would be worth it to check out GF.

1900 Park Fare is one of my favorite places to eat at Disney. We frequent it alot. The food is always consistent as is the service. I am surprised that two people thought that the food was "eh". Keep in mind that the food is typical buffet food (although it was always served at the appropriate temperature).

This is a must do for us on every trip!! :cool1: My hubby and dd loves it. In addition, this year we will be bringing our 7 y/o nephew along for the fun.

My kids were 21, 21, & 19. My daughter's boyfriend was asked to stand up and Mary Poppins showed him how to stand properly. It was a great breakfast and we all enjoyed ourselves.

oops! I hope my statement "I agree with the pp" you didn't get the idea I didn't like the buffet. The food is good. I meant the desserts were so-so for us. (limited choices we thought)

OP, I don't think your son will be left out at all! Have a good time!

Whoops...I did...I guess I was reading too fast. :confused3 Oh well, that is one more person who is for the buffet at 1900...you should go and enjoy it!:cheer2:

Thanks for the reassurance :goodvibes

We managed to get our reservation changed today with no problems  . Our TA said we were very lucky, as this restaurant tends to fill their ADR's very early. Apparently even the CM who she spoke to to change the reservation commented how lucky we were to get the date & time we wanted.

So yay! :cool1: Another character meal.....can't wait!!! :dance3:

We did 1900 last week for breakfast. It wasn't my favorite. I thought it was REALLY loud and the buffet line moved very slowly. I helped all the kids through and then DH went through and by the time I got through (I waited in line about 15 minutes) - everyone was done eating and I had missed most of the characters. It just didn't seem to move very efficiently. The host was trying to get people into a second line by telling everyone it was the same food, but it wasn't. We liked CP better.
