Here are the two choices:

1. One week on the Fantasy in an ocean view concierge stateroom (non suite) preceded or followed by a week at WDW in a Deluxe (either Poly or BC.)

2. One week on the Fantasy in the Walt or Roy, with no WDW visit.

Just curious what most fellow DISers would do!

What about option 3 - B2B on a 4E extended verandah on the Fantasy then a week at the GF?

Options are endless :)

I'm trying to decide what would be the best use of a specific budget, and both of the options presented above would be pretty close.

A B2B plus GF wouldn't fit in the budget if sailing concierge!

I, for one, don't like the decor at GF ;)

#2, hands down. I go to the parks for my husband and kids, not for me.

Given OPs choices, I'd go with option #1. We do something similar, we usually do 3 days at the parks before the cruise & another 3 or 4 days after the cruise. ::yes::

Always pick WDW BEFORE cruising... Use the cruise to relax - else you'll come back home tired...

If those were my only choices, I would pick #1. I can't go to Orlando and NOT go to WDW. I would book the Royal Suite only if someone else were paying for it! :teeth:

I would do longer at WDW and/or B2B cruise in a regular room. I've had three cruises in non-concierge and always had a marvelous time. The longer the better. Definitely can't see wasting my money on a suite, the activities/views/route/ports are the same for everyone.

Very interesting weigh-ins! For the past week or two I've been all but obsessed about the Cat Rs. This helps me recalibrate my options.

However, I am really set on concierge. The lounge, extra personalized treatment, assistance, etc is most certainly worth it to me. :)

So...week first at WDW followed by concierge stateroom on Fantasy. Maybe I'll tack on just an extra night at AKL or something once we are back on shore, just to have one last relaxing day before heading home :)

What about 3 or 4 days in the parks followed by 7 nights in a 1 bedroom suite?

I had considered that. However, being only 3 of us, if we're going for the extra space, it's the opulence of the Rs, or nothing. Otherwise, we would be happy with the basic concierge services of the ocean view stateroom. Does that make sense?

Well, obviously this is not a "money is no object" vacation as I presume your limiting of choices is financially motivated. I would say, stay Concierge and do WDW.

I mean, it's all well and good to enjoy opulence, I certainly would if I could afford it, but I think since the limitations are financial, it would be better to have an extended experience of both cruise and parks.

Actually, I would just opt for a Cat 5A ("my category") but spend SIGNIFICANT time and money on spa treatments and excursions. That is, if I had an extra couple grand burning a hole in my pocket.

It's a "just because you can doesn't mean you should" situation. Trying to choose a budget amount and stick to it, certainly.

Another helpful vote for non-suite and WDW!

#1 WDW and Cruise, that is what we are doing soon, but not soon enough. The longer the Disney vacaton the better!

I was going to suggest the same thing (i.e., 3-4 days at WDW followed by 7 nights on the Fantasy in a cat T). DH and I stayed in a 1-bedroom suite on the Dream in September and it was FANTASTIC. The concierge lounge and other perks were great, but it was the amazing room that made the cruise for us.

option #1- get the entire experience and go to WDW after your cruise....we've done this the past two years and its a real winner...

I am doing option 2 on an upcoming fantasy cruise. I've stayed in the Walt Disney suite on the Wonder last year and loved it. I am very much looking forward to having a private hot tub on my verandah for this cruise :)

2 weeks are better than one, (I live in a 100+ year old farm house so fancy or elegant isn't part of my vocabulary.) Choice 1 depending on timing probably do my WDW week before at BC.
