Would you purchase a Universal/Islands annual pass if you've never been there before?

I have never been to Universal/Islands of Adventure, but am considering purchasing a 15-month annual pass via AAA (some blackout dates apply). I live too far away for a Universal "day trip," but close enough that I could make several trips within the 15-month time-frame if I so desired.

Would you consider purchasing an annual pass "site-unseen"? Why or why not? If you have done so and have since used it, are you content with your decision or do you regret it? Why?

Thank you!

I wouldn't. Thats alot of money to spend on something you've never even seen? Everyone has different opionions, so just because a bunch of people here tell you they love it, doesn't mean you'll love it.

Why would you buy it without having been there? Are you getting some deal on the passes that expires soon?

I did. I purchased PAP's for myself and my family before we ever set foot on Universal property. We researched it online and watched the short ride videos on Universal's website and decided it was a place we would like. We live in TN so it's about a 10 hour drive. We have have been 5 times (5 separate trips, many more admissions to the parks). We have thoroughly enjoyed our visits to UO and IOA. We purchased the 2 yr for the price of 1 and we were also wooed by the APH rates you could get on hotel rooms and the FOTL perk. We have gotten great rates with our AP's on 4 of the visits and paid AAA rates once (at Christmas) when APH rates were unavailable. THe PAP's have saved us a ton of money not only on the rooms, but on meals and merchandise as well.

Would I buy the PAP's now? I don't know. The room discounts aren't there and neither is the 2 for 1 deal. It was money well spent for us and we are hoping for one more trip before ours expire in August.

has anyone tried the code lately for the 2 for 1 deal? or did UO announce it had expired?

I did too. In our case, even though we live in PA and will probably visit only once or twice during the 15-month period the pass is good, the APH discount on the room at the HRH made it a worthwhile puchase. There are 4 of us and we only needed to purchase one annual pass for the room discount. I purchased the 2/5 day bonus passes for the rest of us. We haven't been too Universal either. Arriving 2/5. :jumping4:

Thank you for all of your replies and the link. I'm not looking for anyone to decide for me; I was simply interested in whatever thoughts/opinions anyone might care to share.

The pass I'm tempted to purchase is a AAA 2-Park 15 month Power Pass (some blackout dates, about 1 month in total) for $104.95 plus tax. Parking isn't included.

Thanks again!
