okay, there have been many positive and negative opinions on the character BR, Lunches and Dinners...

so if you put that aside, would you pay just to see the characters only with no food involved......and how much?

for me,, I would pay $25 to see my favorite characters with no wait in line and free to take all pics... added plus.... I didn't have to pay the extravagant prices on meals.

so do you think it is feasible to have appointment times set up to see your favorite characters..

and how much are you willing to pay?

I would not pay to spend time with the characters without a meal or event to go with it. I am so tired of being nickled and dimed to death, having to pay to see characters would put me over the top.

Ummmmm, I do pay to see the characters...in the form of MYW park admission tickets!

I absolutely would NOT pay for a character meet and greet.

Even though the character meals are pricey, I don't think they are THAT pricey for what you get. You are paying for the whole package. I've been to buffet breakfasts at fancy hotels and restaurants that are very similiar to Disney's version food wise, but with little or no atmosphere, themeing or characters and paid alot more than Disney charges!

If it is the only way then .... yes . I would be angry and bitter but I am a photographer and some of my favorite of my kids are with the characters. But i do have to say that is Disney started doing that I would start considering other options for vacation.

I could see this developing into A,B,C,D, and E ticket characters.

I wouldn't pay extra to see the characters outside of a meal. I find the meals about the same as in some of the nicer hotels here and they're higher in price here without the characters.

Isn't it one of the purposes of going to the "wonderful world of di$ney"?

Go to Six Flags & you'll be paying half of the amount you'll spend at Disney with the same if not better experience.

Don't get me wrong, I like Disney but I keep a practical mind with some point blank decisions.

A character meal is one good way to meet the characters but you have to know which characters you (or your kids) like.

Ron I have to say I do like Six Flag parks quite a lot, but to say that the experience is as good as or better then Disney, IMO, is just wrong. I also must say that just about every time I have gone to a Six Flags park I have spent at least as much as I do at Disney, if not more. The only thing I find that costs much less then Disney is a Six Flags season ticket.

no, I would not pay just for characters.

as for the meals, I think they are similarly priced to other "nice" meals.

It is well-understood that the price of character meals include about $5-$6 that accounts for the "entertainment" -- i.e., the personal time with the characters. It's a modest amount of time, as compared to what was suggested by the OP, but I would doubt anyone would want more than double with you get at a character meal, so I couldn't imagine anyone paying more than $8-$9 for such a privilege, for a set of (say) six or seven characters.

I would pay for the character meals...definitley...I love the fact you don't have to stand in line to get photos and autographs...with little ones its a big plus in my book.

Now if they had something set up just to pay to see them, I don't know. I mean if I am paying $25 to meet Mickey and Minnie...do I have a scheduled time that I won't be waiting behind the guy who also paid $25 to meet them?

As my girls get older and we ditch the stroller, I think it will be much easier to wait in lines to see their favorite characters, but for now it's easier on all of us to pay in the form of a character dinner! :)

I always pay for the character meals, and dont feel taken advantage of at all. However, if I could choose like, 6 characters for my kids to have 20 mis with on their own... That may be worth $35 to me, esp if they throw in one professional shot of my girls with the group. If they would make it a dozen characters, and 40 mins, and 2 pics, Id double the $. Sounds like a rip-off to some... But then again some complain about having to pay $2 (last time I was there) for a water or soft drink.

I think that would be a memory of a lifetime though... BUT~ only if I got to pick the characters, and have no other guests imposing on our time :rotfl2:

I wouldn't pay to see the characters but I do always go to the Disney Visa character meet at EPCOT when we are at the park. I suppose if I didn't pay off my balance in full then you would be paying slightly for this privledge and you always get to see 2 characters although you don't have a choice of which ones are there.

Absolutely not. As someone earlier mentioned, we already pay for that with park admission, but to suggest that we pay even more for photo ops is ridiculous. Plus, I think it would be sad if the characters were no longer out in the open for everyone to enjoy.

I do pay to see the characters.

I pay for our admission into the parks, I pay for character meals.

That is enough!

I could not imagine paying just to get a few minutes with a character. That seems crazy to me.
