This is just a fun posting. I'm not a spy for Disney, either. I know park admission includes the attractions and shows and you pay for that but would you pay more to see or do something that's already included in admission costs?

For arcade areas in Disney parks, you pay extra for that privilege, as an example. Say, if you had to pay extra to see Fantasmic would you do it? And I'm not counting preferred seating for this show with the dinner package as paying extra. Would you pay extra to see Illuminations? Besides doing a dinner package would you pay extra for the Candlelight Processional? Osborne Lights? Concerts held during Food and Wine Festival or Flower and Garden Show? Is there a ride you love so much that you would pay extra for it?

In a way, I'm trying to find out if there is something so special at Disney World that you love so much that you would agree for an additional charge to do it. How important is a ride or attraction to you, really? I'm not setting a price for the activity but if you are willing to say I would pay this much extra to do it then that would be interesting info, too.

I'll start it by saying I would pay extra to see The Voices of Liberty at American Adventure in Epcot. I never tire of hearing them and I've seen them over 50 times through the years. Putting a price tag on it and realizing I'm already paying for park admission I would go an extra $10/person to see at least an half hour show.

This is more of a think question; so, give it good thought. I hope we hear from many. I think it would help others to know what may be more important to do/see at Disney World and this may be a good way to emphasize it.

I can't think of any one attraction at WDW that I would pay extra for. There is so much to do there. If WDW charged extra for certain things, I would just do something else.

I wouldnt pay extra for anything at Disney, I think the prices for the tickets are high enough to cover everything, even more than they do.

I wouldn't pay extra for anything. I think the ticket prices are a little high as it is. I am sure they get a lot of complaints about the section in AK with the pay games. We always play them with only other family members playing with us. Where else in disney can you get a stuffed animal for 2 bucks.

Perhaps because Disney does not charge extra for entertainment within the parks I can't imagine paying more than the ticket price. I think they've set a fair price for admission that does indeed cover everything within the parks and I wouldn't be too pleased to have to pay more than that.

However, I would probably pay extra to see Wishes, IllumiNations, and Fantasmic, but only once. Once I've seen them I would not be inclined to pay extra again, though I do feel Wishes and IllumiNations should not be missed. Even if the extra charge were only $5, that's still $20 for a family of four on top of over $40 per person admission. That's $180+ per day, not including meals. And you know it wouldn't be just $5 extra for a show, right? ;)

Nope, I think Disney charges a fair entry fee and everything inside the gates should be included.

I would pay extra to see the Candlelight Processional. We see it almost every night that we're there during our annual holiday trip. It is an awesome display and we wouldn't think of missing it, even if there were an additional fee. Of course, we wouldn't see it every night if we had to pay extra..............

I'm another one who wouldn't pay extra for something. I paid a hefty admission price, and then they turn around and want more ? I hate feeling that I'm being "nickel and dimed".

Not only would I not pay it, I probably would get so turned off that I would stop going.

I'm getting angry just thinking about it!

I am with most of the people and say no I would not want to pay more nor would I.

I am the biggest defender of the prices WDW charges to get in, when people start to complain about how much. I think we really get a big bang for our buck with admission, but to have to pay extra for something that everyone would love to see, is out of the question.

I wouldn't pay extra for anything. That's why we don't go see La Nouba. There is enough to do without having to pay additional extra for shows. The price of admission is high enough and I think the admission prices should cover anything in the parks (like most other theme parks). It kills me that all of these parks have the nerve to charge for parking. Spending $50+ per person for admission isn't enough but sticking you for parking is absurd.

i have to agree that i would not pay extra for much of anything at WDW given the price of park admission as it stands. if i were a first timer or if it was a new show, i might consider it, depending on the charge, but i sure as heck woudn't shell out the cash more than once.

Now that being said, i do gladly pay extra for mouse boat rides, the Hoop Dee Doo, and other non-park activities. I don't think that is what the OP was thinking of though.

I hate to feel like i am being nickel and dimed as another poster already said.

Two weekends ago we took our DS (9) to the PA renisance (sp?) fair. We paid close to 60 bucks for all of us to get in for the day and then ended up getting charged for every stinking activity in the place. the shows were free, but activities added up to a boat load of money!!! We hated that feeling and DH and myself started feeling very ripped off. We don't get that feeling at WDW much. Park admission can be considered high, but it isn't so bad considering the quality and quantity that it pays for. The only extras are things you do not have to partisipate in - their food and souvies - and without these things you can still have a very full experience there.

I have to agree.. if you get in the park and a certain ride is more.. you will feel like your paying twice... and as to fireworks etc... what if you didnt want to stay and watch them,... do you still have to pay?

I think the fact you pay for your entrance and everything ( except food and pressies ) is included makes it worthwhile.... ie street entertainment etc

What next.... does little johnny want Mickeys autograph.... that will be $5 please....

( we had ray park - aka darth maul at a shopping mall near us wanting to charge people a fee of £10 for his signature.... which is a bit much as the kids all Queued up and then went away empty handed )

I would pay extra for Fantasmic. No doubt about that.

I'd pay extra for Illuminations if it was a dinner package.

AS for the rides, maybe ToT, possibly HM. My BF would probably empty out his savings to ride M:S repeatedly.

The parking doesn't bother me. $7 is cheap compared to what a lot of places charge. I went to the Boston Museum of Science this past weekend and parking there for 6 hours was around $11

If you are staying on site, parking I think is free.

La Nouba is not inside a park you pay admission for. I like the Cirque Du Soliel. That cost for La Nouba is the same as the costs for their shows in all cities. I'm hoping to see this on an upcoming trip.

How exactly would one charge extra for Wishes or Illuminations?

"OK, everyone that didn't pay their $5, close your eyes....now!!!" :p

Also,

All of you who say you won't pay extra for anything, are you going to MNSSHP or MVMCP?

That is an extra charge. I'm gladly paying it to be there. :)

That is a little different. You are paying for an after hours special event that includes admission to the park. If I had to pay for admission PLUS the party ticket I'd probably opt not to do it. As it is I plan to go to MVMCP on one of our non-park days and will be at the gates at 4 to try to get in. I figure 4 - 12 ... not a bad deal as some days are only 8 hours on the off season in MK anyway!

I don't think I would pay extra for in park shows and attractions.
When we went to Hershey park they have this harness / bounce ride thing that my kids wanted to do. I said ok at first .. only to be SHOCKED that it cost extra!

I told them no way!! There was too much other "free" stuff to do.

I think that would be my stance, even at the World.

When I first went to Disney, as a young child, I believe the rides were categorized as A,B,C, etc designated rides. We got a certain number of ticket stubs for each category and when they were used up, we were done. Does anyone remember this? I much prefer the current ticketing to that! The only thing I do wish is that they could somehow have a seperate ticket price for adults who do not "drink" at meals that include alcohol, such as Hoop-Dee-Doo.

I'd pay extra if they let me stay on the Skyway for the return trip, without having to get off and back in another line. I'd also pay extra if I got to sit on the People Mover and go around and around until I felt like getting off. I'd pay extra if they let me wander around the inside of the castle unsupervised (you'd see a very different looking Tinkerbell flying across the wire). I'd pay extra if they let me go up on stage in the Hall of Presidents and meet them all...getting autographs etc. I'd pay extra to be able to bring a shotgun into it's a small world and nail some of those devil dolls singing their evil, mind-numbing song.

Yup! Sure do!! Our first trip to Disneyland was with a book of tickets. It was in the early 70's. :teeth:

No, I would not pay extra for the things that are included now. We we were at AK a couple of weeks ago, dd wanted to play those silly arcade games in Dino area. I thought it was absurd that I had to pay $2 so she could bonk some dummies. I think those games should all be free. Just don't give out the tacky prizes....

We do pay extra for "extra's" they offer... Tours, Specialty Cruises, Excursions, etc... as well as what others have mentioned MNSSHP, MVMCP, Cirque, Etc... So to answer your question, Yes I would pay more, for more!

stevered1 - don't give them any ideas ... "What next.... does little johnny want Mickeys autograph.... that will be $5 please..."
