I believe I voted yes to this- because- having just returned from a trip that topped $1500 for me and dh I know for a fact that I paid for VMK stuff- part of the reason dh and I added this little venture to WDW was to get VMK stuff
DH is a Disney addict but I think had I not also been hooked on VMK I would have said no not right now maybe later (he is planning a trip in March already also associated with business and I would have probably put it off for then)
Now if they started to charge us to play VMK- I doubt I would do it- just not interested in it that much lol- and other expenses would definitely take precidence over VMK-
But if they had some neat things like say a tour- I would probably have paid for it- BUT if I am paying for the tour- I want to be treated a little nicer and get lots more goodies not available any other way. I could see where some would not get to do tour even if they could come to parks- but I also think they could allow it if paid for with unlimited access (not waiting the every 3 months thing) since you are paying and there isn't a limit to doing other tours over and over again.
I do think they could add some more of the in park purchase cards- they are really missing out on those lol- I would visit those stores and purchase items (maybe small items) but they would be purchased... lol- and I've mentioned that I would also love to see VMK expanded to other parks this way- nothing major just add those in park purchase cards to other parks- especially Epcot where you can already play the game in Innoventions.
Now I also think they need to work on some of their redeemed in park prizes- and in game prizes- for the in game prizes- if you earn a prize for first time to beat a game or get a highscore- it shouldn't be the same prize for something else- and it shouldn't be for sale in the VMK shops either- For the redeemed in park prizes- again I don't see the big deal for a limit on most of those- they are little peices of paper- I could see limits on overall quests- but if you are bringing in 4 pdfs for bracelets that you won in different games then why not get them? And in the same light- I don't think prizes should be duplicated as other prizes either- sort of negates the value of them a bit-
But if you go to a park to get Quests you are already paying for VMK items- there is no way around that really- sure you may have planned the vacation before and not just because of VMK but if you spend in money to get the stuff you are paying for it in some way or the other-
I just think they need to keep a good variety of things- some nice in game prizes or higher credits for things like Fireworks, pirates and Jungle Cruise (especially for top 10 winners), have some neat perks to going to park- so you'd get things not available in the stores on the game and never make those available that way either (most of Haunted Mansion stuff can be purchased in the stores now or in past)- this I know they are already doing with quests- but get those things expanded a bit. Maybe offer a level two or three quests for those frequent visitors- must complete the previous quests at least x amount of time before completing these- that way those people who go frequently- can do a level two the month after a level one and level three the next month- make them harder (sure the answers will end up here and other sites but the first people to get them will work hard for them). And then have some things that you can out right purchase- real life things like pins, shirts, mugs, etc as well as maybe a few cards for something special.
I also like the games you play elsewhere to win something- I'm really surprised another company hasn't picked up on the kellogs thing... that was a great advertisement- for both companies- and yes we bought cereal too...
okay- rambled on enough- and I probably can come up with some more suggestions - like a meet for VMK people- yes I know Disney isn't doing that because of the whole kids game thing- but if an adult has to make the reservations for event attendance- I think it would be mostly safe- yes people would meet- but how much money would Disney bring in if they held a few VMK events a year at the parks-
I'm curious how many went to a park just for holiday quest stuff that they may not have gone if it wasn't offered?
How many have planned vacations to the parks that VMK was a strong influence on your plans to go?
ok- enough for real this time
