I also voted for park hopping. The last two trips to WDW I only spent 3 and 2 days in the parks. I still commando the parks but only go to parks about every other day. I can do everything I want to do in the four parks in 2 days (I go off season September or early December) spending 1/2 a day in each park. On the third day I did a three park greatest hits day doing MGM, Epcot, and MK in that order to avoid extra bus trips. I can easily get 3 trips out of a 10 day pass . At 352.52 tax included that's only 117.51 Per trip for tickets. I can't do this without parkhopping. Also, with Animal Kingdom closing early, I feel it would be a waste to spend a whole day's admission there and not be able to hop somewhere after it closes.

I don't think I want to be stuck going back to the same park each day. I already spend a lot of money to go, what is another $100 or so?

I voted "No, even though we used to park hop, we'll save the money" but I guess it really depends on the time of year and the guests coming with me.

I can see giving up the park hopper when there is low/moderate crowds at the park.

However, during heavy park crowds I won't want to giive up the park hopper option. Also if my guests are first timers to Disney, I like having the park hopper for flexibility.

I voted for park hopping. It's not really an option for us, as we are PAP folks.
In my opinion, I just wouldn't want to give up the freedom to do what I want, when I want. Funny thing is, I don't hop all that often unless we have dinner ressies in a different park.

I would just feel incomplete if I had to worry about restrictions... :teeth:

While we are considering the new AP with the discount, we will definitely NOT pay extra to park hop. We rarely, I should say never, hop. It seems like a huge waste of time to go to the front, wait for a bus, ride to another park, and then re-enter. My kids do not like to leave, walking by things they want to do and have not done yet. If a park is crowded, how do you know the others won't be too? I guess if we get APs we may start hopping and try it, but we never did with PHPs so I doubt it. I can't see a guest wanting to leave when they have not done all they wanted to either. I assume you could leave and re-enter the same park with a hand stamp. We did that once, went back to BCV to swim and eat dinner, and back into Epcot for Illuminations.

I would pay extra to hop. We hopped almost every day on our last trip. One day we even hopped to 3 parks then to DQ in the evening. Its nice to be able to go to another park if you arent really feeling like spending a whole day in the park. For instance, we started off in AK, but couldnt spend a whole day there, so we went to MGM to ride TT, and RNR. Then went back to the hotel had dinner and went to epcot that evening. I think we will go the PAP route this year because we like being able to hop between the waterparks and DQ and PI as well as between the parks.

I voted yes, but we work off of AP's and can not remember the last time we used anything but AP's.

I hadn`t given it much thought , since in the past , a regular 5 or 6 day PH was just taken for granted by us. If we were in MK ( during the day ) for instance, we might have had a dinner ps @ epcot for the same evening, hence ,the park hopping. We like the flexibility of going to a park for mabe just the fireworks shows. For this reason, we are considering the discounted AP`s , and will plan another trip before they expire ( so it will be beneficial to us in that respect ) :flower1:
thanks

Will get AP from now on but would upgrade to hop if we ever buy passes.

DOCTOR P-how did you turn out after all with the new rates? Didnt you have the 1 week per year dilemma (AP discount didn't work for you)?

Most likely we will be getting only AP's or PAP's in the future...particularly as long as we can get the excellent discount through DVC. BUT...if we were to get the new tickets we would pay for park hopping definitely. As it is we're only going to be in the parks 3 days on our upcoming trip....and I was prepared to buy a longer park hopper ticket than we needed just so we could hop. Luckily I was able to purchase 3 day park hopper passes from a vendor. We'll be back to WDW in 2006 (next year we're going to HH!) and get ourselves the AP's.

We have gotten so fickle about our park habits. We never stay at one park all day and often leave once the lines get over 20-30 minutes. If we get moving in the morning, we will spend about 4 hours in a park and leave once it gets crowded. We may go to another park for the evening show or a dinner. So, I don't think we can do without hopping. We also use AP's, so I'm not sure how I feel about the new tickets. Seems like they would be more flexible, so that has to be a good thing for most vacationers.

While we don't park hop much, I think I would still pay for it. I'm planning two trips within a year for my husband and I, but the kids will only be going on one. DH and I will be getting AP, but I think I will get the MYW for the kids. Since we will have AP, not having the hopper on the kids will be limiting. Also the advanced price difference between 5 and 7 day tickets is only a few dollars, so I would probably purchase the 7 day tickets, but not bother with the expiration fee. That way we can drop in for a short period of time a couple of the days without it costing - addressing the flexibility difference between the AP and PH. I think it might be costing me a bit more than I had figured for the 5 day PHP that I was thinking of getting, but I will get more flexibiility as I will actually have 7 days of entrance available. And DQ is now included and I know the kids want to go back there - since they are teens, I might just let them go on their own a time or two as they will have extra pluses to burn.

Again i have to agree with everything Chuck said... that dinner at Epcot on the forth or fifth day is always the best .. gotta have park hoppers ...dave

Although we'll probably go with the AP, I voted to save money. After reading these boards, I've kinda decided that if we have excess time left over from visiting one of the parks, it'd be a blast to "resort hop" ... I've learned that some of them have excellent dining facilities of which I hadn't been aware!

I wonder if anyone's attempted to visit all of the resorts on one vacation ... sort of like a world showcase, but resort style .... Hmmmm :Pinkbounc :jumping4: Sounds like a good project for DW & I to test out.

if you are going in the summer, Christmas to NY, Easter, Spring break - or any other time - when ALL the parks are open late - then the new ticket is GREAT without the park hopping.

but most DVC go in off season - when AK, MK and Studios close early - park hopping is necessary at those time.

I think WDW is trying to get its summer crowds back up. the last couple of years - the summer weren't bad. WDW has the most help then - so they need the crowds then.

Would you pay extra for park hopping?

In a heartbeat!!!

We very seldom spend an entire day in just one park. I can't imagine restricting ourselves after having that freedom.

:smooth:

Definitely park hop if we don't renew AP's.

From BCV, it's nice to walk through Epcot and take in a few rides then catch the monorail to MK. We like dining at Epcot as well. Also, MGM is not a full day experience for DW and DD as they don't do Star Tours, TOT, ROR...

It's nice to be flexible on vacation!

We never spend a whole day at AK and so we need a park hopper for that day. However, we're going with the AP this year.

When we'll have guests in December who have never been to WDW, we'll probably just mention the 2 day tickets to them, one day for Epcot and one for MGM and hopefully there'll be a MVMCP so they'll get to see MK.
