Would you OR have you ever asked Strangers to get in your pictures? Updated 1st Post

A couple of years ago I was running around MK in my ECV before meeting some friends for dinner and then the MNSSHP. I was wearing a home-made Cheshire Cat outfit and was stopped several times by Guests asking me to pose with them. Of course I am a very cute Cheshire Cat!

What a funny thread! You know, I have often wondered how many famiily pictures I have inadvertently ended up being in over the years. We have so many photos with these random people in the background.

I've thought that too. One of my rotating desktop pictures is my boys in front of the castle and with other people in the background. Sometimes I've wondered where they are now because it seems so strange to see these "strangers" everyday.

Once some Japanese tourists up in Seattle asked to have their picture taken with my one year old twin boys. I believe twins are rather rare over there. We held our boys for the picture, of course, and didn't hand them over. Somewhere in Japan my boys are part of someone's vacation memories. :)

Not quite the same thing, but on a recent trip I wore a "Happy Birthday" button - not for me, but for my friend who wasn't in the World to celebrate on her special day. I asked every CM (and several guests) who wished me a Happy Birthday if they would pose with the button as I took a picture for my friend - saying all these people had wished her the best on her special day!

They all said yes, and she got a day of texts with complete strangers wishing her well! :lmao: She loved it, btw, and so did the well-wishers. I love Disney people.

There's this really great story about a couple who were looking through the wife's pictures of one of her childhood trips to either Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom (I can't remember which) and her husband realized that *he* was in the background of one of the pictures! He recognized his father pushing him in a stroller! Totally amazing!

I had some Japanese tourists in Hawaii ask to have their picture taken with me. I'm not sure why! But it was kind of fun.

ETA: I found an article about the couple whose paths crossed as kids: http://www.wesh.com/themeparks/23830238/detail.html

we had a magical moment a few years ago in Animal Kingdom, I was taking a picture of my 3 college age girls, when two guys and their 8-ish year old sons were walking at a fast pace looking like they were on a mission to hit the rides. as they passed they grabbed my camera (very friendly and non-threating) and told me to pose with my girls; as he focused he told the two
boys to join their "sisters" for a picture. after that, he then took one of me and my girls. never got their names or where they were from. but I incl. the photo of me, my 3 girls and their 2 "little brothers" in all our albums and in our video photo frame; and re-tell the story everytime someone says "who are those 2 boys". we felt the whole scene was funny and laugh at "what just happen?" again if it wasn't at Disney I might have been offended.:lmao:

Oh, come on!!! You *HAVE* to give us more details than that!!! :woohoo: Tell us all about it!

Ooops, never mind! I quoted the wrong thing. Nothing that exciting has ever happened to me.

Sorry!

Every since "Dave" did the "You get in the Photo!" thing in the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" 2005 planning DVD I have wanted to do it.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I found the clip

I have a solo trip coming up, and I would love to do it. I just don't think I have the nerve.

I've never done anything like that before, but I have had countless stangers takes pictures for us....and I've done the same in return....it's all part of the magic !!!!

That happened to us in San Francisco! I think they were Japanese tourists too. They were so excited to see our twins (they must've been about 6 or 7 months old) and wanted pictures with them.

I was "adopted" by a family in the Magic Kingdom and they had a pic taken with me - not a photopass one but they had their Grandma take it.

We had been chatting on the bus and they asked if I wanted to ride Big Thunder and Splash with them so I did. LOL It was fun.

We were on a guided scavenger hunt in the MK and our 5 year old daughter asked for an autograph from the lady that was taking the tour with us. She figured that would be the last opportunity to get a signature from someone named Bambi.

These were not at WDW, but this thread reminded me of these photos. DS's wedding was 10+ years ago on a Long Island Beach (formal wedding) and beach goers were working to get in our photos. It really made an amusing and fun contrast to the wedding.

Back in the early 60's, my mother, father and I were at Disneyland. A group of 7-10 Japanese sailors (in uniform) asked to take a photo with my mother. There was a definite language barrier, but they got their message across. I still remember my dad taking the photo for them.....and me wondering why they had singled out my mom. Dad thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Something that i'd never thought of...

I'm going to have a closer look at my pics now, especially from my first trip, wonder if anybody in my pics are on The Dis
