Would you donate money to someone who couldn't really afford a Disney vacation so that they could go?

No, unless there were special circumstances such as a terminally ill child, etc. I prefer to donate what very little extra I may have left to a few charities i support.

if they can't afford it, I would have to assume they have other obligations that need to be met prior, so no.

If I had the extra money and it was someone who I care about, I would.

No, my charitable giving goes to places that need money for NEEDS, not wants. Disney is definately a WANT. ;)

This. I do have resources that I am able to use besides money to help out friends who otherwise could not afford a Disney vacation.

:thumbsup2

I'm helping my brother & his girlfriend pay for a cruise after my wedding. Technically they could just attend the wedding on the ship & not cruise, but I want them to be there, and am willing to help them pay for it. I'd so the same if it was Disney.

If it was the last wish of their dying child and for some reason they couldn't do make a wish or something I might.

a complete stranger? no probably not but a friend or family member? sure why not? If all their money is tied up in bills and they don't get to take vacations I would be willing to help them out so they could at least take one trip.

for example if my mom and my step dad wanted to do Disney with us but couldn't afford it (which they can't... not with step dad not able to work at the moment) we would have no problem paying for them if we had the money to do so.

If was a situation like Make-A-Wish then yes. Just a person who wants to go - NO.

Is this for real? What are the circumstances? Too many variables.:confused3

If it was a family member, probably.

Random stranger, no.

It would be an extremely nice and overwhelming gift to whoever the lucky person was to be on the receiving end of it.

No. Although I have floated loans to a friend who wanted to go (and since I wanted to go as well, I fronted the cash). She paid everything back though and that was back when I was young and single and had extra cash!

We spend a couple of years in between trips just so we can afford to go. We certainly couldn't afford to help someone else go.
