Yesterday when I was out to lunch with my DH and DFIL (we work together) a table wiping rag was left on the chair of one of the tables next to us. The manager had wiped the table and then dropped the cloth on the seat of the chair when he went to get place settings to reset the table. He forgot to pick the cloth back up when he left the table after setting it. Then he seats two gentlemen at the table, I thought for sure the older man would have seen it and said something, but does he? Noooo! And then he sat right down on the cloth! :confused3

I didn't say anything to the manager or the customer (because my DFIL was with me and it was easier at the time). If it was jsut DH and I I would have done something. The whole time we were there I was waiting for him to figure it out, but does he? Nooooo! DH said he probably thought he had an accident :rolleyes: .

What would you have done in my place?

DFIL says, it isn't your business, and what he doesn't know won't hurt him... aaarrrggghhh. Can you tell I am feeling guyilty?

I would have probaly done the same thing as you. It would have made me mad, but I am not one to cause a scene. And if you had complained about it, what whould you expect the resturant to say or do?

Now if it had been me that sat on the wet rag, then I would have complained.

If you could have said something before he sat down, I would have done so. It's a little more difficult after he's already sitting down. You wouldn't want to say, "sir, you really didn't wet yourself, but you're sitting on a wet rag". His response could have been, "why in the heck didn't you tell me before I sat in it?".

I probably would have gotten the manager's attention before anyone got seated and said something to him/her.

* sigh *

I even said to DH, "why does this stuff always happen to me?" I am always the one telling people things, complete strangers, I am not kidding. The first time I remember it happening was when I lived in TN and I was at a department store paying my bill. This older, a bit heavier, nicely dressed lady was in fron of me in line, in front of a few people actually. Her skirt hem was tucked into her waistband and she was showing everyone her slip (thankfully not her undies :goodvibes ). I gently told her of her fashion emergency. She was SOOO thankful. It has continued through my life...

I guess I just got lazy and tired of always "being the one" to tell people about their issues. LOL

At first I thought the manager was going to pick it up when he reset the table, then when he immediately sat someone down, his back was to me and couldn't catch his eye. Then thy guy sat on the cloth!

"Sir, sir! Don't sit down! You'll wet yourself!"

I probably would have said something equally silly.

Next time I WILL say something and revert to my original personality of helper of all!
