Would you have let your daughters trick or treat like this

Unless they decide to dress up like that, Bob!! ;) :rotfl:

When my son was 12 - he dressed up as Psycho's Mother - had the old lady gray-haired bun, black dress, stockings, old shoes, and then he had the Psycho knife that played the music when you lifted it [the knife] up.

He balked when I had him put on a bra and stuff it with water filled balloons. He wanted to know how ladies survived hauling those things around all the time! :rotfl:

:earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

No chance they're staying 5 and 6 months old forever, is there? :confused3  :(

Halloween is the one day a year I would try to reserve my judgement.

I take night classes at the local high school. I'm more shocked at what teen girls are wearing the other 364 nights a year.

A group of 16 year old boys came to my house last night, and one was dressed like a Bratz doll. I had to do a double take before I realized it was a boy.

I was hoping for pictures! :rotfl: Fortunately I haven't had that issue with my kids, so I can't say what I'd "let" them do. I wouldn't be happy though - there are fun things to do without getting sexual about it, you know?

As for dressing like a trashy rock star...yesterday my kids went out as pirates (big surprise there ;)) complete with a ship. LOL But it was DH who dressed as the rock star. :rotfl2: Shhhh - don't tell him, but he looked more like Charlie Brown! His receding hair didn't leave much for him to spike up. :rotfl2:

We had a few trick-or-treaters in similar outfits. Two of the girls were in elementary school--ages 11 & 12! I can't foresee myself letting my daughter out like that. ANd I really can't see her FATHER letting her out like that. ;)

As the mother of an 18 year old girl, I can tell you she has gone out on Halloween in her share of outfits I wouldn't normally let her wear (a french maid outfit comes to mind  ), BUT her tush was covered and very little cleavage to speak of. It's Halloween, dress up in a fun costume! Two years ago she was Tinkerbelle and went to a teen party. It was kinda skimpy, but again, private parts covered.

I'm kinda on the fence with this one. On one hand, I have to remember when I was 16 and dressed as a hooker for halloween and I basically turned out OK, no major trauma suffered or inflicted. But then again, I see a real danger for young girls dressing provocatively and going out alone to the houses of total strangers.

Last night, one of my kid's friends came to the the door with her mother and little brothers. She is 15 but looks about 11 normally. Last night she had on a mini skirt, belly-baring top, fish nets, and a witch hat. Her mother giggled to me that she was a "slutty witch". I gotta admit that made me feel slightly queasy...

That is a tad young, but you can argue that a boy that dresses up as a girl isn't being trashy.

Or anyone who dresses as a vampire, doesn't mean they are. I would think it is role playing.

Although, I do agree that trouble can start when wearing these types of clothes.

I saw a playboy bunny that would of done Hugh Heffner proud. She looked to be about 15 too.

I keep telling my girls - (often while pointing out costumes in stores, or girls wearing them) - "Halloween is NOT an excuse to dress like a hoochie"!!

Of course, then I had to explain "hoochie" to my girls! ;)

Oh we had 4th and 5th graders IN SCHOOL yesterday dressed like devils, with low cut pants (way lower than the navel) and short tops. I thought it very inappropriate!

Not a snowballs chance would my teenage walk out the door dressed in those costumes. It's one thing to be a french maid, it's quite another to be a sleazy french maid - fishnet thigh high stockings and garters with bows, ruffled underpants (yes you could see them), high heeled platform shoes (think Fredericks of Hollywood style) and cleavage (what little she had) sticking out. We had one of those last night, along with her friend Dorothy from Oz - same type of outfit, just with red shoes, white stockings and garters and a blue gingham dress that barely covered her bum. These girls couldn't have been older than 14 or 15. We also saw a lot of goth and pirate costumes that were similar. It's one thing to let things slide for Halloween, but can't some kids at least keep it decent? And hearing the comments older guys would make as these girls would pass by - not the kind of compliments appropriate for a teenage girl. I'm floored that anyone would think allowing their teen daughter to dress like that would be ok, in public, for even one night. Those costumes are more suitable for adult costume parties, not for young girls to walk the streets, going door to door in.

Yet another day, I thank God I have boys. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Amen to that!

A friend used to be a teacher. A 4th grader showed up on Halloween dressed as a hooker. She was dressed for the part and when asked what she was, she proudly announced a "hooker". Her termonolgy. :earseek:

Let's see...I was a punk rocker for many years growing up. Didn't dress trashy at that age.
When I was 15 I wore all black (sort of revealing...no clevage) and fishnets (which I wore all the time anyway). I was dressed up as the 'Devil in Disguise'. Anyway, this was at school, I didn't trick or treat then and in choir some very cute shy boy asked what I was and I told him. He replied 'You look more like temptation to me.' :smooth:
No problem with it whatsoever. It's Halloween.

Oh, and I have dressed as a hooker for Halloween too. Not as a kid, though.

In our community, Trick or Treating is for ages 12 and under. I'm amazed at how many parents think it's ok for their teenagers to ToT when it is expressly stated that there's an age limit. My DD13 went to a birthday / costume party, but definitely NOT door to door.

And I wouldn't let her out in an indecent costume - but then, she wouldn't want to anyway! (she was a gypsy with a floor length skirt, covered up with a shawl, etc etc!)
