I've heard so many good things about Palo on these boards, and I would really like to experience it on our cruise in October. My DH, however, is not at all into what he considers "fancy" dining. He's a real meat & potatoes kind of guy. Add to that the fact that he was diagnosed with diabetes several months ago and has to be very careful about what he eats, and we'll just say that he is not as excited as the rest of us about eating in the restaurants each evening.
DH would prefer the buffet, which is of course an option each night if we wish, as he has more choices and feels more comfortable in that type of environment. We've agreed to try the restaurants and decide how we feel about where to eat dinner when we're on board. He is not, however, interested in going to Palo at all.
So... my question is this: would you go to Palo alone in my situation? Would I feel very conspicuous and strange eating there by myself? Would the brunch be better (as I would likely also be missing either dinner or some event with my family to do this)?
