I have been to Hoop Dee Doo 2 times years ago. Do you think an infant who enjoys music and entertainment would sit through an entire meal at Hoop Dee Doo? Am I crazy to consider this?

I definitely don't think its crazy, but it depends on the kid. Some 15 month olds would be much more entertained than others, so it really comes down to how you think your child will do. I would have done it with mine, but she was pretty chill and good at sitting through dinners.

been there done it was ages 4, 15, 18 and 24 month olds on different trips. 4 month old was the toughest. others all loved

i love hoop de doo! if your child will sit through it then go and enjoy! they may not appreciate it, but you'll have fun

Absolutely. I've got 5 kids, and while some would just sit and watch at that age, others would have had a hard time being still and in one place that long.

How long do you think the whole process will be from start to finish (travel from GF to Hoop Dee Doo) then until show ends and travel back?

The dinner show is approximately 2hours.
Travel time varies depending on wait times. Disney says to allow 90 minutes each way I would think at least a minimum of an hour each way, so you are looking at about 4 hours total.

We took my 18 month old niece to HDDR in 2016 and it was the highlight of our whole trip. She had an absolute blast the entire time. She was dancing in her highchair, clapping and loved the performers in the show and loved the food.. especially the strawberry shortcake. We have a video of her clapping and when the server put the dessert on the table, her eyebrows went up and her face lit up and she grabbed the big spoon and helped herself! LOL it was so cute. Something we will never forget. We weren't too sure about it beforehand, but she really shocked us lol. She is almost 3 years old now and still talks about it and watches the videos we took of her that night and we took her again in 2017 and she loved it all over again. I know every child is different, but you will never know until you try if they will enjoy it or not.

I would agree with one of the comments above, suggesting at least 4 hours total.

Sometimes, you just know. I've got 5 kids, all taught well. If I tried parking 2 of those in one place, any place for 2+ hours, it would probably tear a hole in the time-space continuum.

I can't remember how old our DS was when we did HDDR but he was probably under 3. We did the late seating (I think it was 8:30) as we had a CM as one of our guests and she could get that one at a big discount. They seated us in the very front right next to the stage and the stairs where the performers go up and down the stage. Dinner was served and DS ate then proceeded to sleep through the entire rest of the show in my DH's lap. The performers thought this was hilarious because he could sleep through the singing, stomping and them traipsing up and down the stairs. They worked it into the show a couple of times. It was so funny.

Ask for a seat towards the back of the first floor so you can wander around outdoors if it becomes too much for your child. I suspect you'll be fine since there's lots of sounds from the stage and audience (they are big on audience participation) but it's nice to have an "escape" nearby.
Go and have fun...it even impressed this jaded NYCer, LOL.

I was thinking that, not to be too close to stage in case I have to keep getting up. Where do I put that request in? I paid for most expensive floor seats, would the back of the theater still be same price?

I'm not sure where to put it in in advance. Maybe call up and ask.

We saw it last year and this year with my kids. 18 months and 6.5 yrs. At 18 months my youngest loved it. he was bopping around to the music in his high chair. We sat on the floor seats and were in the 2nd row of tables close to the stage. We asked for plain pasta for my oldest to eat since he doesn't eat the normal choices, and it wasn't a problem.

I think its a great show. You know your kids better than anyone. Mine will sit through meals. 2 hours would be a long time for him to sit, but he did it no problem since he was entertained and eating.

The back of the theater is called category 2 seating and the performers leave the stage and come back into that area too. You can see just fine as it's a small venue. We sat at the start of category 2 when we went and had a ball what with the show in front of us and the little 4 or 5 y/o boy sitting at the table behind us who knew alllll the words to almost every routine. He was a riot and kept us all grinning.

Give a call to (407) 939-3463, listen to the prompts and I'm sure they'll be happy to change your seating.

I think it just depends on your kiddo. How do you enjoy dining with them now at regular restaurants? I was really tempted to book Hoopdeedoo for our last trio, youngest had just turned 3, but decided against because she was not fun to have at a regular restaurant for a much shorter amount of time. I was worried that she and I would be spending most of the time out of the show, but we're doing it this upcoming trip, she'll be just 4 and I feel much better about it.
