Would you go to EPCOT day 1 Saturday of F&W or Day 2 Sunday? HELP

Hi all, I have a trip planned over Labor Day Weekend. We are doing the MNSSHP Friday afternoon/night. Typically we hit EPCOT Saturday and HS Sunday, BUT the first day of the F&W Festival is that Thursday I think (Aug 29). Do you think it matters if we go to EPCOT Saturday or Sunday? Can anyone tell me what to expect the first weekend of the festival?

Both are going to be busy, especially since Monday is a holiday. I would go whichever day you'd like as I would not anticipate the crowds being much different between those two days. Normally I would have recommended the Sunday but the holiday Monday negates that suggestion.

I wouldn't choose either. Weekends are crazy to begin with and the first weekend is even more nuts. If I had no choice I'd go Sunday though, it might be slightly less crazy.

I wouldn't choose the weekend either, but we are locked into having to go on a Saturday or Sunday. However, I studied a few historic crowd calendars and Sunday looks like it was the busier day of the two. We went one time on a Sunday and sat in traffic for over an hour, just trying to get into the park. Then we parked in an area we had never been in before, where the vendor vehicles were parked. We had to walk through all sorts of ropes and barriers to get to the entrance. My experience has been that the attractions weren't very crowded as most people were enjoying the food and wine, so that wasn't an issue. It was a little busier than normal, but the lines weren't terrible. We normally avoid the food and wine kiosks.

I will also be there that weekend. I was originally going to Epcot on Saturday but I decided to go with Sunday instead.

I too believe Sunday would be the best choice (relatively speaking! ;)), but the next day holiday will no doubt have an effect on that. We were visiting on a short weekend trip in late April 2019 and Sunday was our park day. Epcot was very crowded with the F & W Festival and it was a Dapper Day! :crowded: We enjoyed it - the weather was fantastic, the food and the music were great - but it did become tiring trying to move through the crowds.

Thank you this is VERY helpful. When we do 3 day weekends, it's almost always in the order of: MK, Epcot, HS.
I think we will switch and do it: MK, HS, Epcot, as per everyone's notes. I don't have a choice, we are going this weekend as it's a gift to my nephew and the only 3 day weekend we all have together (we live in different states, so different school holidays etc).

It is what it is. We will just go with the mindset of: let's pick 4-5 rides/attractions and try and nail them, anything after is a bonus. Plus they are SUPER psyched about the food fest (I'm getting them each a $30 gc for food) and for pin trading around the world. Either way we will have fun plus it's my favorite park.

I can't wait to see the menus for 2024 and any changes from last year! Hurry up Disney!!

I think the Monday, even given it's a holiday will still be the better bet. People from out of town will probably be travelling home on the Monday and for people who like to drink around the world there won't be a recovery day available if needed.

Agree.
However, WE will be those people traveling home and sadly can't do a park day on Monday. Waaaaa....
