Would you go to Disneyworld 7 months (31 weeks) pregnant?

Hi there!

Only you know your body and how you feel. If you feel great then go for it!

3 things:

1) Take care of yourself

2) Have fun :goodvibes

3) Consider vacation insurance just incase you're not feeling up to it. ;)

good luck with your decision what ever you decide.

We had originally planned to go at the end of July when I'm 34 weeks - but my husband likely has business travel then so instead of cancelling altogther we rebooked for July 4th week when I'll be 30 weeks.

Originally in-laws were coming with us and we were going to stay at SSR. Now, it's just me, him and DS3. The trip is entirely for DS3 as a last trip before the sibling so he can ride the train and small world as much as he wants (he tells us what color train he wants and sings it's a small world all the time). We changed our booking to the poly and club level and I think it's the best decision we've made. my son's not a thrillride kid so we'll be able to take things really slow and if we only ride 2 rides, good enough. we go fairly often that rides are not a priority for me. I've asked my dr at each visit about the trip and she keeps telling me that i'm good to go. Since you know your own pregnancy history -- then you know what to expect.
(the 1st one was easy -- now if I had the history of a friend of mine who went into labor 10 weeks early, I wouldn't be considering this at all)

Good luck!

I will "turn" 30 weeks while in Disney in Sept. My midwife has given the okay unless something changes between now and then.

ETA: This is the first Disney trip that I've added the insurance to, just in case.

I was around 6 months pregnant when we went in 2006 and I will be the same this September when we go. I had a great time! Just took it much slower than I usually would. This time we will have DD with us. She will need afternoon breaks so it will be a good time for me to rest too.
As long as your Dr. says okay and you know you will be taking it slow I say go ahead and have fun!

Hey Gals--THANKS for this line of posting!! I will be 30 weeks in September when my husband has planned a "last hurrah" for us at Disneyworld. I was pretty worried about it until I found your posts. I love taking WDW slowly so I know that I will love this trip. I can't imagine anywhere I'd rather be.

I am 30 weeks today and we are leaving on Sunday for one last trip before DH & I are outnumbered! Doctor okay'd it and I'm doing pretty well - no major complaints other than feeling pregnant! I don't expect it to be the "best trip ever", I just can't wait to see the kids faces - that makes it all worthwhile.

I went ~27 weeks along with DS and I was much bigger than I am this time around. I survived and we had fun, so much so we are doing it again!

Drink lots of water, rest when you need to, take breaks by the pool, eat good food (and don't stress over the xtra calories!) and ENJOY!!!

Hmm.. I don't know.

I went in May at 23-24 weeks and had no issues...commando toured from rope drop to fireworks and rode just about everything except the big rollercoasters. In fact, I've had a great first pregnancy with zero complications. I was breezing along thinking, 'oh, this is no big deal, I don't see what people fuss about.'

But I'm 33 weeks today, and let me tell you, I wouldn't go to Disney unless someone else paid for it, they rented me a scooter and I had two weeks to accommodate my slow pace. I'm still working full time as an ER nurse, and it takes me almost two days to get over one 12 hour shift at work. My hips, lower back, and feet can't take it. It's like I just got really slow, clumsy and uncomfortable all of the sudden about three weeks ago. I'm not swollen, I'm not contracting, and I'm not bleeding, but I can't imagine trying to tour WDW in the heat at this point.

I will be around 30 weeks preggo when we go in March. I think its really a decision that varies so much with how you feel, and your medical history. If you feel up for it and your doctor gives you :thumbsup2, then go! Just make sure you listen to your body, and rest. :wizard:

I went when I was very pregnant and had a fantastic trip! In fact I was 34 weeks when I got back from vacation.

OP - how was your trip and how is your newborn doing?

(you guys do realize that the OP of this thread already had her baby don't you? It's a bump from 2009!) :rotfl:

Yep! I've gone to WDW at just about every stage of pregnancy, from 4 weeks all the way to 36 weeks.

OK I know this is a super old post but I'd love to hear how the trips went! I am in the exact boat as the original poster except for my age. 31, preggo with #3 will be 7 months in November. If we don't take the trip we will lose our money since we rented DVD at the Polynesian. I know our trip will be much more laid back then I originally planned but will I be miserable? Would you do it again in hindsight?

ETA: saw this in new posts and didn't realize it was years old.

I wouldn't. If you are walking all day, and start getting dehydrated because you are busy walking and entertaining kids, BH will start and for me would ruin the vacation. Also with every child for me relaxin kicks in sooner and sooner and my pelvis would be killing me after walking all day and then not sleeping with 50 million pillows.
