Why or why not?? We can afford to longer 10 or 12 nights (value season) @ delux)...but I worry about the heat and the crowds. HELP

Just did a weekend trip this last weekend. It was the last weekend before "value season" starts (this weekend) so you can use that as a gauge for crowds--i.e.--still semi-busy this past weekend although not terrible. This weekend starts the "dead" time. HOWEVER--I live here in FL. and still get agitated w/ doing Disney in the heat. And it was hot--not to mention storms every day (hurricane season ends in Nov. and Aug./Sept can be really wet months for us!). We only went since family was down. My favorite "value" times are Nov./Dec./Jan/Feb. (the weeks that fall into value).

We just returned and I'm not sure if I could do the end of August again. There would be some variables for you. Do you have children? How do you (or the kids) handle the heat? Can you possibly go at another time of the year?

I don't handle the heat too well. And, it was HOT! We also got the best of Hurricane Charley and were rained out a couple nights. It was also hard for the children to stand the heat.

We were only there for 6 days and didn't get much done. Last time we went was the end of September and we got much more done. The crowds weren't awful during our stay, but were not great either. We had to FastPass the rides we really wanted and just simply skipped many rides because lines were too long. I choose not to stand in lines longer than 20-25 minutes.

We've also been during April, May and beginning of June. Since our kids are now old enough to be in school, the beginning of June will likely be our chosen time from now on.

We have gone the last week in Aug for the past 2 years and loved it. We would have gone again this year but our APS expired so we had to go earlier. Yes its hot, but I like it hot. The first year we had mroe rain than we would have liked, but we got through it. The crowds arent bad at all.
