I am planning a trip to Universal. Not sure if we'll do Disney at all, but for now, it's just going to be a Universal trip. We were just there in Aug 2010 and LOVED it. But I know how crowded IoA can be, especially at the WWOHP area.

So, my choices are either Spring Break week. That is the last week of March for us. Or the week the kids get out of school. That would be around the first weekend of June (depending if we have any snow days this year).

If I go during Spring Break, it will be just me and ds11. If I go at the beginning of June it will be me, ds11 and dd13 (and she may be bringing along a friend).

We would be staying at one of the Universal hotels, so we'd get the FOTL pass.

A coworker went to Orlando during Spring Break last year and she came back telling horror stories of the crowds. I really don't want to spend that much money just to fight crowds. Not sure how crowded it will be this year.

if you have the option, go in early june.

i went once during spring break and it will never be a repeat time for me...
(too many people in line for rides, attractions, shops, restrooms, restaurants, counter service places, and walkways not much better.)

I'd go early June too, if you have the choice. It will be hotter but not as crowded. But I would still go during Spring Break and stay onsite if that works best, while I probably wouldn't go to Disney Easter week.

the UO hotels would be cheaper in early june than during spring break.

Also by then Despicable Me and Spiderman as well as the new miniature golf should be open.

Just the fact that more are voting for June should tell you what the crowds look like. Went twice spring break, both times wonderful. Our spring break is the last week of April.

I went the first weekend of June last year and it was wonderful! Not too hot, crowds were very low which made it very easy to get around the parks, even with staying onsite. I also went last October and June was much less crowded! I would think spring break would be very busy and even with onsite it won't be as pleasant since it is just harder to get around with all of those extra bodies.
